CI #19 Round-up

082408-ci19-B.jpg I think some of you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned that the real challenge of the latest Color Inspiration Challenge was picking that fourth color! It took me quite a while to decide on which color to choose.

Eventually, I finally picked one of Stampin' Up!'s new In Colors for 2008-2009, Baja Breeze. I love this color so much! It's just such a soothing color. And if you've been paying attention to home décor as of late, I'm sure you've seen it everywhere! It's definitely a color that's a staff favorite at Stampin' Up!'s home office. We love it so much!

From the numerous entries to the challenge this week, it looks like Baja is a color a lot of you love, too! :)

Anyhow, here are the selections for this week. So many cards and SO many different color choices. You all did so well! I wish I could show all of your cards here. :)

TOP TEN

TEN RANDOMLY SELECTED

Can't Thank You Enough - All supplies from Stampin' Up!: Say It With Scallops stamp set; Polka Dot background stamp; Basic Black, Baja Breeze and vellum card stock; VersaMark ink; Winter White Detail Embossing Powder; Scallop Square punch; Baja Breeze Striped grosgrain ribbon.

So beautiful and crisp and clean. As they say...Great Minds think alike! Great job all, and welcome back to Kristina *feel better*

Sarah:

Very nice card Kristina. Agreed, that is a nice color.

I agree with comment #1.... there are LOTS of times the winners appear to be card styles that Kristina could have made herself. (LOTS of talented people out there, I guess.)

Can't wait to play again next time.

That is one beautiful round card - love the dots! I love doing your challenges and was kind of in shock when I saw my card in your Top 10. Thanks so much for this honor! Today was a pretty rough day at home....some health issues suddenly came up - so this was a highlight in an otherwise rough day... Thank you again - Best wishes from Iowa :)

Lindsay:

Hi! I love this card...and this blog...

Thank you for all of your inspiration and tips!

I have one question for ya...
How do you get the lighting just right when you photograph your cards? I recently started taking pics of the cards I make, and they seems to come out yellow-ish and dull. Any tips? TIA.

I am sharing the same thought with lindsey about the lightning. I cant seem to get the photo taken right. =)

And great card you got there Kristin! It gave me some inspiring ideas. :D

Good day!

Wow, Kristina, that card is striking! Love the touch of polka dot vellum and how you used the scalloped square sentiment!

ANSWERING QUESTIONS:

Lindsay and Esther, I have an architect's arm lamp on my desk that I angle down to shine on my card. I also usually do "Auto Levels" in Photoshop. That usually cleans up the lighting quite a bit.

Hope that helps!
