Friday Focus – What’s On Your Desk? Challenge!

Hi all! It’s been a busy week! Whew!

So happy to sit down and make a card for you guys. :) Today I challenged myself to use items that were already on my messy craft desk. Be sure to watch the video to see the surrounding areas of my craft desk–YIKES! All in all, I like how the card turned out.

I ended up using a bunch of washi tape and then created my own colored cardstock by first embossing the sentiment in white and then pressing the Hero Arts Tide Pool ink onto white cardstock (I tried embossing after but the powder stuck to everything). Quick and easy.

Are you up for the challenge?

Leave a link to your creation below the supplies. We want to see what you come up with! :)

Mannie as inspiration ;)

Morning, all!

So not to long ago, Lorraine from the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog asked me if I wanted to be a guest designer and provide a challenge for a week. Absolutely! I looked through my photos to find a picture with a good color combo and, as you could probably guess, I do have a lot of Mannie photos. :) He’s my child! And since he can’t complain about the photos, I keep snapping away. LOL!

Anyhow, this is what I chose…

And here is the card I created…

I used the Batik Cartouches stamp set from Inkadinkado to stamp the motif images all over the card front, embossed them in white, and then created a thin band of color for the ribbon and and sentiment. The sentiment is from the You’re the Best stamp set from Hero Arts and BasicGrey. :)

The Challenge Blog design team made the cutest cards! I adore the ones with cats on them. You can see them all HERE. And don’t forget to play along, too. You could win a $50 gift certificate to the Simon Says Stamp store by leaving a link to your card at the bottom of the Challenge Blog post. Your link must be at the Challenge Blog to be included in the drawing.

Anyhow, have a fabulous Wednesday! :)

Readers’ Choice Color Inspiration No. 4

Hi all! We’re heading into the fourth Readers’ Choice Color Inspiration Challenge, and this time it’s all about the blue. :) When you look around the web in galleries or on blogs, you don’t see a lot of the blue in this photo–the bright blue–but it can be a really strong color in a great combination like this one. The photo for this challenge comes from Laura.

Just like previous Readers’ Choice Color Inspiration Challenges, this one is like the color challenges of yester year. :) Jump on in and create something to share!

Oh, and if any of you find a spam link, please contact me. Thanks!
