Tim Holtz Seasonal Distress Inks

© Simon Says Stamp

Hello, all! This is my first post and video for Simon Says Stamp, and I’m happy to show you a card featuring the brand new Tim Holtz Seasonal Distress Inks. These are limited quantity in the Simon Says Stamp store, so be sure to pick them up while you can. :)

I had a lot of fun playing with the inks for this video! This was one of my very first experiences with Distress Inks, so I’m proof that anyone can use them! You can get awesome artistic looks using these inks. Just be prepared for inky fingers. ;)

I also wanted to note that I did not use a Ranger Craft Sheet. A lot of artists use a Craft Sheet because it makes clean up easier and it helps to pull in the ink from the edges (like I did around the edges of the music patterned paper here). Instead of a Craft Sheet, I used a page protector from a scrapbook. Really all you need is a slick surface. It also comes in handy when you’re doing the technique with water I show at the beginning of the video.

Anyhow, enjoy! If you have any questions about the inks, please leave a comment. I’ll try to answer, and if I don’t know the answer I’ll track down someone who does. :)

Enjoy!

MACM – Smile Card

Hi all! Sorry for the lack of posts. I had a crazy weekend! And I’m still catching up. :)

Anyhow, for today’s card I used a bunch of things from October Afternoon’s Sidewalks collection, including the Little Flyers. Super cute collection–light and bright colors. It’s just a happy color palette. :)

So, enjoy! I’ll be back tomorrow with a card and video that I made for Simon Says Stamp. It’s all on Distress Inks! EEK! I’m not that familiar with Distress Inks, but it sure was fun to get my fingers super inky this afternoon.

MACM – Rolled Roses

Hello, all!

Since the Holiday Card Series is over for this year, we’ll take a bit of a break from the holiday card. But not for long! I’ll be back with holiday cards here and there until Christmas. Anyhow, for this week’s MACM card and video, I wanted to make some felt roses. So fun! They’re a bit tall on the front of the card, though. So if you want to mail a card with the roses on them, you’ll want to use a padded envelope or something like that.

In the video, I show how create the rolled roses using felt and My Favorite Things Rolled Roses dies. Enjoy!

Holiday Card Series 2011 Sketches?

I have the PDF of sketches ready. Watch for a post tomorrow. This year, I’ve included a supply list for each card and a link to the post here at the blog so you can watch the video easily. :)
