Plaid Stamping – Make a Card Monday #236

Hi all! For today’s card and video I wanted to try out some colorful plaid stamping. I was totally inspired by Laura Bassen, who in my opinion, has perfected plaid stamping. She’s amazing at it! (And just about everything else, too). :)

I used the Basic Stripes stamp set from Clearly Besotted and a bunch of Memento inks from the Gum Drop pack of inks for the plaid. Although I thought they were a bit splotchy at first, near the end of the stamping they were doing great. I take that to mean that the stamps probably had a little bit of a coating on them that dissolved as I stamped more and more. This allowed the ink to stick to the clear stamp a bit more and stamp more smoothly.

  1. I love all of your cards but I this is one of my favorites!! I have always wondered how you do a plaid design…thank you so much for teaching that:) I completely forgot about the Christmas card class so I’m heading over to that site to see if I missed it. Hope not!

  8. Wow! I’m completely in love with this. I love to make plaids. Hadn’t though to add white gel pen. Brilliant idea, especailly how you used it to outline your cloud!
