St. Patrick’s Day Card with Distress Markers – Color Wednesday #34

Hi all! Happy Wednesday!

I’ve had the A Magical Spring stamp set from Paper Smooches for over a year and it’s been calling my name! I didn’t have a chance to use this little guy on a card last year, but I’m so happy I had a chance tonight to ink him up! :)

I used Distress Markers and a water brush to color the leprechaun. And then I stamped the shamrock from the stamp set in Green Leaf ink on Green Leaf cardstock from Simon Says Stamp.

  1. I love the fact that you’ve been saving this stamp set to use it for paddy’s day!!! I got a kick out of hearing Mannie meowing in the background!!

  2. So cute!! The irish peeps are gonna love that little guy! Nice that the stamp set also includes neutral stamps! Versatile. I can freak out for the SSS matching cardstocks / inks!! Wish there was a way to ship them out to SA quicker. It takes a month or so….totally painfull!

  3. OOOHH hello Mannie…precious kitty kat! Love how he asserts himself from time to time. Adorbs!!

  4. Haha! This is the cutest card! Love those markers!

  5. I love the red hair with green color combi.. Thank you for a good distress markers tutorial!

  6. That card is adorable. Better get it in the mail to someone today!

  7. SO cute Kristina!! TFS!

  8. He is so cute. My daughter teaching Irish dancing in Layton and she would just love this card. Thanks for sharing!!!

  9. That card is so cute I think I might stop being afraid of leprechauns.

  10. Cute card! TFS!

  11. Ha!!! When you were coloring the buckles and shamrock, I was thinking “well, if this was MY card, I would put sparkle and dimension on those parts”, and then….YOU DID!!! I think we are sympatico now!!!

    Thanks for the awesome lesson.

By the way, I lurve me some Mannie meows, even the demanding ones. I think you need to make him some treats. I have a great recipe for whole wheat tuna and catnip treats. My Pearley loves them almost as much as Temptations, and it only costs 5 times as much to make them, LOL, but she is so worth it!!

  14. Cute card :) I enjoyed listening to Mannie. I would like to reach out and rub him.

  15. Hi Kristina! I really like your card! I like the color of his hair and beard and how you stamped the shamrocks with the green ink and used the matching paper. SUPER CUTE!! Thanks for all you do!

  16. Love the card & video.

  17. I just love your tutorials. My favorite part of this one of course had to be Mannie. I have two cats of my own who do the same in my craft room. They like to play with things that they shouldn’t, demand attention at the least convenient time, and expect treats on their schedule, but I wouldn’t have it any other way and I get the feeling you wouldn’t either with Mannie.

  18. Mannie is so funny! I love how you talk to him just like I talk to mine. My kitty would also eat string if I gave it to him, silly kitties! This card is super cute and Mannie cameos are the best! Thanks for making these great videos. =)
