Friday Focus – 1 Card, 1 Stamp Set #1

Happy Friday!

Today I’m starting a new Friday Focus miniseries I’m calling “1 Card, 1 Stamp set.” I thought it would be fun to challenge myself to use only one stamp set on a card, and really focus on that stamp set. :)

I used the Butterflies stamp set from Simon for today’s card, and added a few colors by using the Rock and Roll technique with some Avery Elle pigment inks. Be sure to watch the video below to see how that works.

The gold areas on the card are from Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. I’m noticed over the last little bit that my gold embossing powder is getting really gritty. It’s really weird. After I did this card, I tried out a different gold embossing powder and it was super smooth. So, I think this might my last card with that particular embossing powder. Maybe it was getting old? I have no idea. I don’t remember it being so gritty and bumpy before, but I have had it for a few years. Oh, well!

Hope you enjoy the video!

  4. Love the idea of cards using just one stamp set! Would love to see you make a card with Square Sayings. I love the set but frustrated that I don’t have any good ideas on how to use it. (I also have the three squares in a row die.) Thanks!

  5. Loved this! Been stamping for over 30 yes and don’t recall the rock n roll technique!

  6. Kristina, thank you for showing me the rock ‘n roll technique. It makes me look more artistic than I really am!

  7. I am very excited about your 1 card,1 stamp set series. Love that idea and what you have done so far. You asked for suggestions including sentiments, well I my suggestion doesn’t include sentiments but I would like to new ideas and uses for the mason jar. In particular, the set with the candies. Thanks for all you have taught me so far. Gwen
