MACM – Retro Elephant

by Kristina Werner on March 30, 2009

in Cards, Make a Card Monday

MACM - Retro Elephant(Retro Elephant? Really, is that the best card name I can come up with? Oh, well! It’s so much easier when I stamp a sentiment on the card or something!)

Anyway, today’s card has a lot of stuff on it that are new additions to my craft stash. A lot of it came in my last TwoPeas order. Being that I do projects and such for TwoPeas, I usually order new things once a month. And these things came in my March order. :)

Sassafrass Lass came out with the cutest paper collections at CHA in January so I was SO excited to order them! I love the retro look of them and they are so fun. The Bungle Jungle papers are adorable! I can’t wait to use the first paper shown in the video–the one with all the animals really large. Wouldn’t that make the best “at the zoo” scrapbook page? LOVE it!

And then the ribbons from Jillibean Soup are awesome. I’d never heard of this company until CHA, so I wasn’t even sure if TwoPeas was going to carry it. So glad they are! I used the twill tape from the Pink/Green ribbon card, but I used the Kraft/Brown journaling spots on an upcoming project for the TwoPeas Stamp Camp 2009 (watch for that soon… my class for it is done, but won’t go live until mid-April). Jillibean Soup seems like a super fun company! :)

And the Maya Road chipboard? Did you see how much comes in that one tin? HELLO. I’ll never use all that.

Anyhow, have a wonderful Monday!

(The video is still processing over at YT, so the high quality version will be available soon).

This came out so sweet! I’m liking all those papers you got. This card makes such a cute baby card. I probably put a cutsie baby sentiment in the bottom right of the card.
Going to have to get some info or find a CTMH consultant online and buy that stapler! So cool how you can swing its little arm out and staple so easily! Never saw one like that.

Thanks again for another fun, exciting, new MACM! Your the best girl!!

Hugs!

cute card – I’m going to a card class that Jillibean from Jillibean Soup is having at our LSS. She’s from my area so it’s neat to see you use her new products on your crd.

Hi! What a cute card, I am in love with the elephants lately. Are they the new owls? I can’t see the video on your blog, I just get a box with a little box of colored shapes in the top left corner. I can go to YouTube to watch it, but not directly from your blog. I have this problem with other blogs, too, and have installed the new IE, reinstalled flash, checked every setting I could find, etc. Since you seem computer-ish, tech-y, I thought you might know what the problem is! Thanks for any insight!

So cute! I just got those papers the other day and haven’t had time to do anything with them. Love your idea for the card and will definately be using the papers for baby cards this summer!

This is super cute! I love those papers! I just ordered some linen tape from Fabric Bar at Etsy.com. They have the cutest stuff! Here’s the link if you are interested:

Thanks for all the time and effort you put into giving us MACM!

Loved the card. What I do to thread a button instead of using a needle with the thread use a floss threader. Works great for me and it is thin enough to go in the holes with no problem. If you stick yourself no pain like a needle. Keep up the good work! Love all that you do!

Cute card … unfortunately, most of the products used seem to be sold out at Two Peas.

PS Love the videos!

I know! lol! I was so frustrated to see that most of it was sold out! But Twopeas is pretty good about getting things stocked up again really quick. :)

Thanks! I will keep my eyes open to see if they get more in stock. BTW, totally loved you opening your shipment on video … I am still in the early stages of this whole scrapbooking/card-making journey, so every package I receive is like Christmas! ;-)
