It’s been a crazy week and I’m SO glad it’s Friday! I can’t wait for the weekend to start! Hopefully I can tackle some of the projects that I’ve been meaning to do for over two weeks!
Anyhow, I have a simple card for you this week using Amy Butler fabric brads and some paper from the 12×12 specialty pack. I’ve been loving everything gray recently, so I adore the color in this collection. Plus, I got to try out the 4×12 cork adhesive-backed sheets from Quickutz. The best part about these cork sheets? You can use punches on them! I don’t have a regular diecut machine (just my digital Silhouette), so I was so happy to see that I could use punches! :)
Enjoy the video! You can catch it below, or by clicking here to watch at YouTube. And don’t forget to visit the project page in the Garden to see the other supplies used.

I just have to thank all of you for being so patient with me over the last couple of weeks. It’s been so busy and I just couldn’t find the time to update here like I usually do. Things are calming down, though. So, things should get back to normal soon.
Seriously, I have the best readers ever. You are all so nice and friendly and some of you that comment often, I feel like I know you (even if it is just a little bit). And I sense that most of you can sympathize with me over being so busy you can’t get to the things you normally enjoy doing. Thanks for sticking in there with me. There’s lots of awesome stuff to come.
Namely, I’m going to post the round-up for CIC #49, and put the 50th Color Inspiration Challenge together this weekend. I’ll most likely post the new challenge tomorrow, so watch for that. You’ll have a week to complete it, so there’s no rush. :) Also, I’m hoping to design this month’s Virtual Card Club, as well. Sounds like a busy weekend, eh? It’s the good kind of busy, though. :)
And, now the video. Sorry to hijack this week’s FF video post…

Very cute !
Hey Kristina!!
I always visit here – it is such a bright and friendly place with inspiration jumping out every single post. Don’t apologise for living life though!! We ALL get way too busy – I NEVER have enough time to do all the projects that spin around in my head. I find when I can’t get to sit and do…I actually plan in my head and the projects come out way faster…. anyway, hang in, everything happens for a reason :-)

That is so funny because I just die cut with cork last night…a leaf actually!! Love your card…can’t wait for the 50th color inspiration…I am getting in on this one for sure!!!
Hi Kristina,
This card is so unique! It just gives me ideas :)
Hope things are calming down at your new job….it sounds like it has been crazy! Take care.
such a cute card! don’t feel bad for not posting for 4 days, I’ve been MIA for at least 4 weeks! lol! I need to find my mojo, and you may have just helped with that! Thanks! :o)
Cute Card!!! I can’t wait for May’s Virtual Card Club!!! Don’t make yourself crazy this weekend…try to enjoy!
love your cards! i always get excited for fridays and i love stopping by here every week to see what new card you have to share! love this one…so simple, yet so adorable…keep up the great work and inspiration!!
I love those Amy Butler buttons, nice work! My kids were asking me if I was ever going to be in one of your movies, I laughed and told them that they were your special thing! Keep it up ;)
I really like the Amy Butler paper and it looks so good on the grey.
Thanks for another great video. Have a fabulous day!
Kristina,
Hey Girl! I am pumped for the CI #50. I have been slacking in the craft department, not really inspired since the nice weather has hit. Rather be golfing! I bought those brads a couple of months ago and have not used them, so excited that you can provide some input on how-to!

Thanks for all the great posts. I look forward to Monday and Friday every week. You always have such wonderful things to show and talk about.
Another simple, yet classy card!!
Lovely card Kristina, always worried that big brads are too big for cards – think I will be brave and try some! Don’t worry about not doing so much on your site, you have a life and we all know that!
Kristina, I visit your blog every day… sometimes more than once to check for new posts:) I love your stamping style and love your videos!! I totally know what you mean about being busy and not being able to find the time to do the things you enjoy… I get so busy w/ work I don’t have as much time to stamp as I want but I guess that is what funds my stamping addiction!:) Thanks for sharing all your beautiful work!!!
Well you’ve definitely been missed – but I totally understand! I’m having to confine my scrappy work to the weekends… and even then I’m not able to make it a priority. :-( Take your time in life, don’t stress out, and enjoy every minute of your weekend. :-D
*Great Card!!!*
What day do you post your new challenge? I am never surewhere or when to look for it. Will you be posting #50 soon and if so where should I look for it?
Thanks,
Leslie
I don’t have a specific day that I post the challenges. And for the answer to your other question, you’ll need to read the entry above. :)
Great card… love those brads. I’m also crazy about gray lately, so I love love love this card. Excited for #50! Thanks for the inspiration!
Love that card…such a beauty! Glad to hear you are human and have a life too!!!!! Dont apologize for that :)
Looking forward to #50!
Gorgeous card Kristina… as always.
And you take your time… we’ll all still be here
This is a really nice easy card. I like the cork. I am so excited to know I can use my punches with it. I am glad your life is calming down a bit. Have a great weekend
Love the card. I actually have that Amy Butler tea paper and it’s so beautiful. What brand is the gray paper that you used? I need to get some.
That’s Stampin’ Up!’s Going Gray card stock. :)
I love this card – I enjoy how even your “simple” designs are so elegant. Another inspiring idea. :)
As always, love how easy you make these beautiful creations look! Thanks so much for the GREAT tutorials, they really help me (and I’m sure others :^) out a lot! These papers and brads are gorgeous.
loved this fabric brads!!!

Great card again!!! :)

Thanks for all you do!:)

Great card Kristina! Love the cork sheet – can you let us know if stamping works well on it too please? Thanks!
Love the card, Kristina!!! I’ve looked at that Amy Butler paper on Two Peas before and didn’t think I really liked it. Must be that the photo just doesn’t do it justice because it’s gorgeous on this card and much brighter than I expected it to be.
I totally understand about being too busy with keeping up with the blog. I’ve been feeling that way myself lately. Sometimes you get pulled in a lot of directions at once and you just can’t do it all. I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you come up with for CIC #50!
Kristina-
I have to say I LOVE all the cards you’ve shown in the last few posts! So cute, and I love the simplicity of them….very inspiring! Thanks again for all your creativity!
Great card! Love the brads!!! I have those brads as well and don’t use them because they are just so pretty, and I love looking at them..haha!
The best part of being busy is to be able to just stop and admit that! Gotta put some things aside for a minute. You post the best stuff, so we can wait. LOVE brads by the way – I gave up eyelets sometime ago but use LOTS of brads.
Love the fabric brads and the clean simplicity of your card!
Thanks for all you do :-)
Another great awesome card for another Finally Friday! Love it! I really, really like that gray color paper. It’s very rare to find that color of paper. I know that you got it from SU. My question is I know you buy a lot of great awesome things from 2 Peas! Do you still buy product from SU?
Also for the next VCC, will you be making creations for those who don’t belong to a SU club?
Have a great awesome weekend! Can’t wait to see what you come up with next!

just wanted to say hi and that i found your blog tonight. i just google searched “paper crafts graphic design” and you were first on the list! i am a full time graphic designer but at work i don’t get to design the fun, cute girlie things that i love. i have always loved crafts but never really bought all the stuff to get into it. i want to start making my own cards. i have two baby showers coming up that i am in charge of doing the invites, so it is my first real test!
can you recommend to me any other good graphic design/craft/card making websites? i don’t want to get too much into stamping, because i would also still like to use illustrator (my fav!)
love your ideas. i bookmarked you and will be checking you out all the time!

Hmm… I just know of the most popular card sites. I would try the Garden over at TwoPeas. It’s mostly scrapbooking pages, but the cards the Garden Girls post are awesome: http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/cg_latest.asp
I love this! It’s always fun seeing how you use some of the latest products! I know what you mean about posting on the blog. It’s better to post quality than quantity, right? Are you enjoying your new job? Sounds like it’s been keeping you busy! Best wishes!
So cute! Hope your weekend goes well and I love that cork!
Hi
I was wondering; is the scalloped sentiment punch by Fiskars different than the scalloped edge punch by Stampin’ Up! ? Is the scallopes larger or something? (like, is the halfcircles larger than the ones on the stmapin up one?) I know you hva both, so I thought you might know… =)
The sizes are about the same. However the Fiskars one has a more gentle scallop. Like, the points where the scallops meet aren’t as sharp as the SU version.
okay, thanks =)
I feel your frustration!! I get like that when “life” gets in the way of my “fun” time! So much crafting to do but so little time!!! I don’t mean that in a selfish way. But man, a girls gotta unwind sometimes! :D
Your card looks great! Such a fun design! I also love the cork and the grey. You mixed the colors so well!
Your vids are so fun! My girls like to watch them. You do such a great job pulling everything together! I can’t wait to see the new Color Challenge! I’ve been watching for it…..I missed the last one!!! BBL…

I feel your pain! Too busy to stop and just have fun. And I’m a SU demonstrator! I love what you do. Your creativity and usual simplicity keeps me grounded when I get out of the box. I’m sure I can speak for us all when I say: We love what you post (vids especially), but understand the time issue; we’ve all got the same problem. Please just keep doing what you do and we can wait! Love you, Love your cards!
