Color Inspiration #52
This Color Inspiration Challenge photo comes from blog reader Traci. Aren’t those beautiful colors? I know they might not be direct colors from the photo, but they were inspired by the photo, and that’s what this challenge is all about, right? :)
So the colors are Baja/Aqua, Saffron, Mustard, Sand, and White. Remember, you have to use all the colors without adding any additional colors. It’s a challenge and that’s what makes it fun! :)
Anyhow, enjoy!

Hey Kristina! Ok, this may sound kind of a duh question but I have to ask….lol! That “sand” color you mention is that like a greyish color? or kinda like khaki color? So hard for me to tell. Are these SU color names? Unfortunately I don’t use SU products…:o( sorry! So i couldn’t really compare them to. But I guess I’ll just have to compare my paper color to my laptop screen when crafting something. Anyways, I thought I ask.
Yaneri :o)
The color I show is SU’s Sahara Sand, but it’s kind of like a taupe-y sand-ish gray. It’s gard to describe. You’d be okay using a light gray. :)
I found this challenge particularly difficult this week, these colours were definitely challenging. Thanks for making me push the boundaries this week Kristina.
May 17th, 2009 at 1:17 amBeautiful colours Kristina! Have a good week!

Hi Kristina
May 17th, 2009 at 7:43 amThanks again for another challenge, although my card turned into a bit of a disaster I am still going to enter into the challenge as I may not have time to do another one before the closing time. I thought my idea was good and enjoyed the process of making this card but was not happy when I started using my new Snow Writer pen. Oh well, our craft is meant to be a way to experiment and grow! Have a great week!
Stayed up late late midnight creating something for this challenge. These colors for sure were a combination I think I would never pick out if it wasn’t for this challenge! Had lots of fun creating!
May 17th, 2009 at 12:16 pmjust featured this week’s challenge over on the frog blog! so happy to finally have a week with a spare few minutes to make something for your fab challenge. :)

Lovely colour combo Kristina. So wish that we had the Baha/Aqua colour over here in the UK but at least it appears in our DSPs. Provided just the inspiration I needed for a thank you card. Sara xx

Gosh, I really love the colours you put up in this challenge but I don’t think I have saffron…or mustard :(
Really great cards the other’s created, though :)
May 18th, 2009 at 9:03 amI don’t think I’ve ever done one of these Color Inspiration Challenges before. I see them every week, but this week, I decided to jump in. It really was a challenge to use ONLY the specified colors! Also, I used the wrong yellow, but it is close I think. Thanks!!!
May 18th, 2009 at 11:52 amHello
May 18th, 2009 at 1:45 pmThis is my first time actually following thru with a challenge and posting it to my blog. I hope you will all take a moment to check out my card. Enjoy and thanks for looking.
Finally got around to participating in my first but definitely not last) color inspiration challenge–love the colors this week!
May 18th, 2009 at 2:57 pmHi Kristina! I thought this challenge would be super easy when I first saw it — but it turned out to be super hard! I had tons of fun tho! :)
And, I think I messed up when I entered the card in Mr. Linky — I only have one card entered, not two — the #2 must have been from last week. I hurried up to try and go back and I thought it didn’t work so I did it again (without the #2) and THEN the first one showed up. Doh! Sorry!

May 20th, 2009 at 2:55 pmReally great colours and inspiration! Wish I had time to play more.
May 20th, 2009 at 3:13 pmThat was fun! This was my first time participating in a challenge EVAH!
I loved those colours and I’m looking forward to playing again.
I really liked how my project turned out, but sadly, i’m not a photographer…
I saw some comments with people using a ‘like colour’ for the Sahara sand, I too had to use a ‘like colour’ and substitute with a ‘kraft’ cardstock.
It was difficult for me to only stamp images with the colour challenge ink colours. I realized that i don’t always have to use black or brown to stamp with.
I hope i linked everything appropriately, i’m new to the blogging world.
Ciao,
