MACM – Be Happy

in Cards, Make a Card Monday

MACM - Be HappyGood morning, all!

This week’s card is 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″, so it’s a smaller square card. :) I started out just staring at the My Little Yellow Bicycle Zinnia stamp set for what seemed like ages, and then I got the idea to stamp it and color in the centers with my new Copic marker.

Now, some of you have been asking me about Copic markers and I’ve never really used them. I used some gray ones in college in my Environmental Design class, but since then? Never. Anyway, I was at Hobby Lobby a few weeks back and was intrigued. So, I bought a few and we’ll see how it goes. By no means am I an expert, but I’ve been watching YouTube Copic videos to get some tips.

Even though the green Copic I used (G24 Willow) wasn’t the same color as the ink I used to stamp the “leaf motif,” I really like how it turned out. :)

Oh, and before I forget, the button and flower are from Making Memories Mocha Paperie Blossom & Button Box. For the life of me, I couldn’t remember the name of it while I was narrating the video. Anyway, they have the same blossom and button boxes in various colors, too.

You might want to check out http://ilikemarkers.blogspot.com/ The woman who writes the blog teaches the copic certification classes and has lots of great tutorials tips and tricks on her blog.
Loved the card as always. I’ve seen that stamp pattern somewhere else lately (I’m almost positive it was at 2 peas) and I am really likeing it.
Thanks for sharing with us!

i agree with Rose: ilikemarkers is a GREAT blog…all about coloring. so helpful and fun.

COPIC markers are dreamy. if you have any doubt, just buy one. they’re pricey, but totally “like butta!”

Love the simple design on this and your coloring makes all the difference! Don’t have any Copics yet…can’t cough the dough, but perhaps…Enjoy figuring it out!

I love the card, as always, especially the simplicity! I do not have any Copics, either…heard of them but have not been curious enough to investigate. I’m still getting used to my Stampin ones! Thanks again for your inspirations!

Very cute. Love the little loopty loop line you made. Also, great job with the copic marker. Need to try them out myself sometime.

I love the way the Copic markers make the image pop. I thought the bottom of the card had 3D stickers. I just started using Copic markers and I love them. They are fun. I love your card. Simple and Sweet!

Right when I saw your card, I wondered how you got that gradient look to it… and then, I discovered after viewing your video clip, that you are simply: PURE GENIUS!

Never would have thought to do that, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the look!

GOSH, YOU ROCK! (There’s a reason WHY I stop by your blog EVERY DAY!)

Hey Kristina!
I was wondering, where do you buy your Colorbox chalk ink pads? The only kind I can find in stores are the color ques. Also, do you buy the pads individually or are they available in a set like Stampin’ Up! does it?
Thanks!
Karen

p.s. i love the card, as always :)

I buy them at Hobby Lobby. And I don’t think they sell them in packs. You could check though… http://www.clearsnap.com/#Products/ColorBox-Fluid-Chalk-Inkpad/69
