Hi all! Sorry the video is up late today. I decided to film it this morning since I have the day off work. I ran into some technical difficulties, but it all worked out in the end. :)
My sister is turning 30 this month–craziness! She seems younger than her age, that’s for sure. :) Anyway, I wanted to create a custom birthday for her and this is what I came up with.
I used lots of supplies on this card. In fact, I think this is the longest supply list I’ve had for a while. I used Around the Block’s Lucky Number Big Metal Brads for the large numbers, two stamp sets by Sassafras (Song Writers and This Way), the Jolly By Golly 6×6 paper pad from Cosmo Cricket, and the list goes on. Super fun stuff!
So, enjoy the video! You can watch below, or see it larger and in HD over at YouTube.
Happy Birthday *30 – American Crafts card stock in Black; Papertrey Ink card stock in White; Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly 6×6 paper; Stampin’ Up! card stock in Basic Black; Sassafras Song Writer stamp set; VersaMark ink; Stampin’ Up! clear embossing powder; Papertrey Ink ribbon; StazOn ink in Jet Black; Around the Block Lucky Number Big Metal Brads; Sassafrass Lass This Way stamp set; Stampin’ Up! ink in Crushed Curry.

I see you’ve used a lot of new products. Beautiful stuff. I am planning on getting my self some of the mini decks by Cosmo as well as the wee bundles by Sassafras.
Thank you for taking the time to do this video, despite it being a holiday.

Oh, I love it! I am turning 30 next month, and I would love to get this card! She will love it! :)
Love it! I love all of the color and how every selection from paper to embellishment play so well together.
Thanks for the great tip about inking with Versamark first to avoid beading up.
Very nice and color combination!! I copied everything you do in your videos!! Love your ideas!
Wow, those brads are amazing. Great colour combo on the card.
Great tip about inking in Versamark first! I have had that happen so many times and never knew how to stop it! Thanks so much!! As always, another perfect card! Thanks for spending part of your day off filming a card for all us “Kristina Wanna-be’s” :)
Hi Kristina! I love the bold colors on this card. Do you show us all the cards you make, or are there a bunch you do that we never see? Just curious, because I know you have TONS of supplies and I was wondering if you ever actually use them up, or just use a few things from each package like I do. Hope you had a great labor day!
That’s a great tip…using the Versa Mark pad first and then the dye ink. I’ve also seen someone do that to emboss, but I’ve been worried about it ruining the ink pad. Glad to know that it can be done safely.
Great card Kristina! Your sis is going to love it! LOVE the technique of the Versa Mark….
I was wondering where you got the hole puncher to get the brads in from – and what size it was,,,
Thanks Kristina!
Thanks! I believe it’s a 1/8″ hole punch. I bought it from Stampin’ Up!, but I think it was an EK Success punch. Hope that helps! :)
Thanks so much Kristina for answering our questions! I am off to go find one! Wishing you all happiness always!
Hi there! Loved the card today, and I’ve gotta find those number brads. Did you get them at 2 Peas? I’m glad I watched the video, because I thought the “numbers” were just stamped or patterned paper. Great texture with the embossing. Thanks for taking time for your readers, and have a fabulous week!
Yes, I got them at TwoPeas. Just click on the link in the post and it will take you to TwoPeas. Plus, they’re on sale right now! :)
What a cool card! Love this one Kristina, those stamped numbers are fabulous – your sister will adore this! I had wondered about using versamark on my clear stamps, thanks for the tip! Jo x
Lovely card! I love the colors you choosed!
Love the black. I have such a hard time using black (Well, except on Halloween cards). Great job.
I love your card! Thank you SOOO much for the tip on the versamark ink first. I was just fussing with an image yesterday and stamped it ten times, tried using an eraser over it, and it still wouldn’t work. I’m off to try this one out right now! Hugs from Morocco!
what a fun card … love the colors and all the details! thanks for the great tip on the versamark/ink coverage! super!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful card and the great Versamark tip!
Very cute card! Thanks for the tip on solving the problem of ink beading up on the clear stamps. I’ll remember that.
Happy Birthday to you sister!
Thanks so much for talking about the Versa Mark. I’ll run right out and get it! My stamping is going to look so much better now.
I like this card. Great colors and lovely design.
Eveline.
This card is lovely. Another tip for ink beading, rub the acrylic stamp over with an eraser fist, it works really well. C x
Talk about POPS! This card does that! Now this looks like you Kristina! Reminds me of some of your work when I first discovered you….I love this card…but I love ALL your cards!!
(Your creations are worth waiting for) Thanks for sharing.
Kristina,
Thank you so much for the tip witht he versa mark. I have had the ink bead up using rubber stamps too, do you know if the versa tip will work for them too?
Great card, by the way. Love it! I need to ger those brads and patterned paper.
thanks for the versa mark tip!
I love all of your cards….. I look forward to wacthing you everyweek. Thank you for the great ideas.
I just wanted to let you know that you can also use a bit of sand paper on stamps to help the ink go on smooth. It will not mess up the stamps but if you do it once it will work great from then on.
Thanks again
I love the embossed numbers. Great tip with the Versa Mark. I saw a tip on another’s site that said to sand it with your file. Has anyone tried that? I’d be afraid to ruin my stamps. Have a good week. :)
Just saw Tammy’s post. I guess that answered my question. Thanks a lot.
Very nice! Love those bright colors against that black cardstock!
Absolutely adorable card! Happy Birthday to your sister!
Great card! If I use mostly clear stamps, what SU! ink is better: craft or classic?
THanks
Thanks so much for the wonderful tips and ideas! Great! ! ! !
