MACM – Card Sketchbook

A few months ago I made a card sketchbook and I’ve been sketching card ideas in it ever since. Ya’ll have seen it every once in a while when I show card sketches in videos. Anyhow, recently I’ve had a lot of questions about it, so I thought it deserved it’s own video and blog entry.
Not exactly a card for Make a Card Monday, but definitely related to cards! :)
Click here to download the PDF of interior pages.
Oh, and things were pretty busy over here at the little ‘ole blog this weekend. Check out the giveaway and also Virtual Card Club for September 2009.
Thanks for watching! You can catch the video over at YouTube, or below. :)

Just regular computer/printer paper. Nothing fancy. :)
Thank you…cant wait make one.
Absolutely adorable!
I created two sketchbooks when you did the cricut review. I keep one at work so that if I think of something, I sketch it out quickly and it stays in my purse so that I’m always ready when that thought comes to mind!
September 14th, 2009 at 7:47 amyou have beautiful handwriting!
September 14th, 2009 at 7:57 amI love this idea. And the little book idea would be so great for things other than sketches as well!

September 14th, 2009 at 8:12 amI’ve been wanting to make a sketch book for a long time. Your PDF is just what I needed to make it complete. I was wondering if you can show us who are not computer savvy how to maybe add some square outlines for the sketch book. I sometimes like to make square cards as well. Thanks for sharing.

September 14th, 2009 at 12:25 pmI so love all your ideas! I have that paperpack because I couldn’t resist how awesomely beautiful it was and I’ve been debating what to use it for. I love how your sketch book turned out! Do you create a new sketch every time you make a card? I’m thinking you’d need so many pages!
September 14th, 2009 at 12:36 pmI wish I could freehand cutting like you do, not to mention your handwriting. Thanks for sharing.
September 14th, 2009 at 12:50 pmLove this! Thanks so much for the PDF–this would make great stocking stuffers for my stamping buds!

September 14th, 2009 at 1:52 pmOh my gosh! Just had to say how much I love that BG paper…. AND…. You are a master with scissors! I don’t think I could have cut that white border out around that sticker as well as you did. You’re amazing! I must have failed scissor cutting in Kindergarten.

September 14th, 2009 at 6:43 pmKristina,
I know you aren’t my personal computer technician, but… I am having trouble viewing your last two videos. I keep getting that dotted circle swirling around and the video keeps stopping. Very frustrating!! Any ideas?? I need my Kristina fix!!
Thanks.
Sounds like you might have a problem connecting to YouTube. Not sure how long you’ve waited for it to load, but sometimes I just let it load (press pause), walk away for a bit, and then come back to it. You also might see if you have the latest Adobe Flash Player (just google it to find a download link).
Thanks, Kristina~ I downloaded the Adobe Flash Player as you suggested, and it did the trick.
Graphic designer AND computer technician… very talented. Loved the videos – I am going to have to CASE your Halloween cards for my niece and nephew. Very cute. Thanks again!
great sketch book. Hopefully now that i have a beautiful sketch book I will actually sketch! :)
September 14th, 2009 at 7:17 pmFunny thing- I actually have made this book in the past but it was a check register book instead of a card sketches book. I got tired of having to buy check registers, so I made my own (thank goodness for online banking now)
September 14th, 2009 at 8:56 pmThanks for the interesting vids you make…..
P.S. your handwriting is Beautiful!!!
Great ideas.
September 14th, 2009 at 9:14 pmso so so cool. I started out using a white paper in A4 size as a sketch paper similar to yours and thought about doing a sketch book like you. But today I’m really really happy because of the great inspiration you gave. And of course because of the template. So cool. Thanks so much! I think I’ll soon do my own sketch book with your template. Thanks!
September 14th, 2009 at 10:48 pmYou made my day :)

Not sure what you’re referring to. Are you asking about the September Virtual Card Club? If so, you can buy the VCC pdf here, but you’ll have to buy the supplies on your own. I don’t sell SU product. Sorry I can’t help more! :)
Thankyou so much Kristina, I appreciate the reply!
Sorry that it was a little confusing, It’s the pregnancy brain!!!
I look forward to getting it! THanks heaps

Kristina-
I love this! I’ve actually had this blog post opened on my screen since Monday. I knew if I closed it, I would never make it. Anyway, I did make one and I love it already! Mine was looking a little plain, and then I thought, “What would Kristina do?”. So I added some (a lot) of white faux stitching and then rounded the corners – of course!
Check it out here:

Thanks for everything!!!

September 17th, 2009 at 4:30 pmHi Kristina,
My dd and I loved this idea! Well, I made a couple of them and I intend to make tons more. If you’d like to see mine it’s here:
http://stampitscrapitshareit.blogspot.com/2009/09/fabulous-friday.html
Also, just wanted to share with you that if one doesn’t have the stapler you mentioned, use the kind that folds out (and you said that) but you can use the mat that comes with the paper piercer – it does the same thing, your prongs won’t fold down.
September 18th, 2009 at 6:44 amHi Kristina! This is such an awesome idea. I made one last night and it was alot of fun! Here’s the link to it on my blog…
http://scrapperforever.blogspot.com/2009/09/card-sketch-book.html
I kept it pretty simple but colorful and I really love it! Thank you so much. :)

P.S. Have you thought about doing a PDF for some layout sketch books? That would ROCK! Hint, hint… ;)
September 18th, 2009 at 7:16 amOh, I forgot to say…THANKS for the tip about the stapler! I only have a regular one, so I did like you said and opened it up to staple my book. I used an old mousepad and it worked perfectly!!
September 18th, 2009 at 7:19 am- April

September 21st, 2009 at 7:49 pmHi Kristina, I made a card sketchbook for my friend Martha. I printed the pdf on regular (european) A4 paper and it came out perfectly. I did check the outside measurements before I cut my DP though.

Eveline.
Forgot to mention this but I had a stapler in my possesion that does the same thing as Kristina’s and it’s just a regular stapler bought in an office supplie shop.
Eveline.
