MACM – Card Sketchbook

in Cards, Make a Card Monday

MACM - Card Sketchbook

A few months ago I made a card sketchbook and I’ve been sketching card ideas in it ever since. Ya’ll have seen it every once in a while when I show card sketches in videos. Anyhow, recently I’ve had a lot of questions about it, so I thought it deserved it’s own video and blog entry.

Not exactly a card for Make a Card Monday, but definitely related to cards! :)

Click here to download the PDF of interior pages.

Oh, and things were pretty busy over here at the little ‘ole blog this weekend. Check out the giveaway and also Virtual Card Club for September 2009.

Thanks for watching! You can catch the video over at YouTube, or below. :)

Here is mine. I changed it a little to use for scrapbook sketches so my boxes are squares to resemble a 12×12 page. Thanks for the inspiration!

Kristina,
Love the sketch book! Made one and posted to my blog. Couldn’t believe how easy it was. I also adored the BG paper, so I ordered one from 2 Peas yesterday. It was my first 2 Peas order. I shall definitely be saving my pennies for some more goodies.
Thanks so much for helping me and all of us to think outside the box. Your ideas and creations are so inspiring!

Not sure what you’re referring to. Are you asking about the September Virtual Card Club? If so, you can buy the VCC pdf here, but you’ll have to buy the supplies on your own. I don’t sell SU product. Sorry I can’t help more! :)

Sharnee Torrents September 17, 2009 at 12:01 am

Thankyou so much Kristina, I appreciate the reply!
Sorry that it was a little confusing, It’s the pregnancy brain!!!
I look forward to getting it! THanks heaps

Kristina-

I love this! I’ve actually had this blog post opened on my screen since Monday. I knew if I closed it, I would never make it. Anyway, I did make one and I love it already! Mine was looking a little plain, and then I thought, “What would Kristina do?”. So I added some (a lot) of white faux stitching and then rounded the corners – of course!

Check it out here:

Thanks for everything!!!
Dana

Hi Kristina,

My dd and I loved this idea! Well, I made a couple of them and I intend to make tons more. If you’d like to see mine it’s here:

http://stampitscrapitshareit.blogspot.com/2009/09/fabulous-friday.html

Also, just wanted to share with you that if one doesn’t have the stapler you mentioned, use the kind that folds out (and you said that) but you can use the mat that comes with the paper piercer – it does the same thing, your prongs won’t fold down.

April September 18, 2009 at 7:16 am

Hi Kristina! This is such an awesome idea. I made one last night and it was alot of fun! Here’s the link to it on my blog…

http://scrapperforever.blogspot.com/2009/09/card-sketch-book.html

I kept it pretty simple but colorful and I really love it! Thank you so much. :)
- April

P.S. Have you thought about doing a PDF for some layout sketch books? That would ROCK! Hint, hint… ;)

April September 18, 2009 at 7:19 am

Oh, I forgot to say…THANKS for the tip about the stapler! I only have a regular one, so I did like you said and opened it up to staple my book. I used an old mousepad and it worked perfectly!!

Good morning Kristina,
Today I was finally able to complete my book! I kept it super simple since it’s probably going to be in my purse & I thought it came out pretty good!! Thanks again for this wonderful idea!!

Good evening,
I have been a follower of your work quite a while now. I have seen the booklet you have used for your sketches and wondered where you have bought it. Finally I got the answer! And guess what? I have made my own as well! Take a look here.

Lorena September 21, 2009 at 2:27 pm

Hi again, Kristina!
Here’s my 1st version. A bit different and grungy because it made it for my hubs, but will be doing a lot more!! I’ve also made some 2 by 2 inches ones, they turned out SO cute!!

Eveline van Heijst September 22, 2009 at 4:59 am

Hi Kristina, I made a card sketchbook for my friend Martha. I printed the pdf on regular (european) A4 paper and it came out perfectly. I did check the outside measurements before I cut my DP though.

Forgot to mention this but I had a stapler in my possesion that does the same thing as Kristina’s and it’s just a regular stapler bought in an office supplie shop.

Hi Kristina,
thank you for the inspiration to create a sketchbook. The interior pages are awesome, thanks for sharing them with us readers. =)

I liked your design with the label so much that I ended up doing something similar (though my handwriting leaves something to be desired on this one =)
Thanks again. It was a lot of fun to make.
