Finally Friday – Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake
For this week’s card, I just had to use some of BasicGrey’s new Nook & Pantry collection! I’ve been eagerly waiting for this collection to come out since it debuted at CHA this summer. SO cute! For the card, I used the Cake stamp set (Hello? Build your own cupcake? I’m there!) and some of the papers from the collection pack. Super fun! (see more of Nook & Pantry here)
Oh, and before I forget… I have NO idea how I got that bow to look that good! One of life’s great mysteries, I guess! LOL! Usually my bows are passable, but this one cooperated beyond what I could expect. Hmm… I wonder what I did…
Anyhow, enjoy!
CHALLENGE: Use the card sketch found on this week’s Finally Friday page to create a card of your own. Upload your card to the TwoPeas gallery, select this week’s Finally Friday video, and your card will appear at the bottom of the page! :)

Gorgeous paper! I have to say, when I saw your bow, I was like “That is an insanely perfect bow.” Then you said, “I think that’s my most perfect bow ever.” It was rather funny, as I was sitting alone, talking to the computer.

October 23rd, 2009 at 10:53 amAwesome card, Kristina!
October 23rd, 2009 at 10:57 amWas this the perfect fit for you or what? After all, YOU ARE the “cupcake queen!” Listening to you squeal while you were stamping the cupcake was hysterical. I’ve never looked at cupkcakes quite the same after I found out about your obsession with them. Good for you!!
October 23rd, 2009 at 11:15 amI love all things Basic Grey; they just keep outdoing themselves!! Thanks for the card, and have a great weekend! :)

October 23rd, 2009 at 12:39 pmOMG! This card is so cute it almost made my brain explode! That stamp set is ALREADY sold out!
October 23rd, 2009 at 12:41 pmWell, isn’t that just the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!!
Now that I know what my next 2 peas purchase is going to be (I’m still loving my BG Indian Summer). I have a question for you: When you buy the paper packs like that do you use the 12×12 patterned sheets just for cards or do you do layouts etc as well. I love pattern paper; but sometimes I cringe when I have to cut up a whole sheet for just a square or two for a card front.
Just curious. Have a great weekend!
I feel the same way about cutting into my gorgeous 12×12 papers just for a tiny piece for a card. LOL
love this card. it could be one of my all time favorites! I am going to have to put that stamp set(s) on my Christmas list! Thanks for sharing!
October 23rd, 2009 at 1:43 pmLove the card – and love your enthusiasm for both paper and cupcakes! Must be time for a coffee?
October 23rd, 2009 at 2:35 pmGreat card, I love this stamp set I have been trying to find a great cupcake stamp here in Australia and know I just found it. Can we see the unedited version of you tying that bow??? I have a picture/text tutorial on tying bows but can only sometimes follow it… to see you do it in real time would be really handy to alot of us… Have a great weekend
I tied it same way I always do (like in this video). For some reason, this time it worked out better than other… I’m still baffled! I have no idea how I did it! :)
Thanks so much :)
Delightful!! oh my word–that is one cute little ditty! And I am so glad you shrieked after stamping those cupcakes parts, bc I did yelped the same thing (@ my inanimate computer screen) after you stamped them! LOL too funny! :)
October 23rd, 2009 at 4:05 pmUmm, pretty sure that stamp set just entered my NEED list :) Great job, especially the bow!
October 23rd, 2009 at 4:22 pmI love it, love it, love it! Your signature style is faux stitching & rounded corners…those little details make a big difference!
October 23rd, 2009 at 4:50 pmWhat is it about you, Kristina? It’s like you have the Midas touch. You touch it – it turns to gold. I mean seriously, I can’t wait to have my hands on those clear cupcake stamps.
October 23rd, 2009 at 7:01 pmnice card ans these stamps are so nice !
October 23rd, 2009 at 7:06 pmOne of the first things I noticed was the bow ~ it’s positively perfect! I can’t tie one to save my life, so you had me from the bow :)
October 23rd, 2009 at 8:58 pmWonderful card and love the cupcake and the way you did presented it. The bow is awesome, I always end up with a glob of ribbon in the center but your’s came out great. Wonderful card as always.
October 23rd, 2009 at 10:28 pmYour so cute Kristina! So fun to hear you say “that is sooo cute”.
I think sometimes when it comes to the perfect bow is the type of ribbon. I know that when I use a good satin ribbon, I usually end up with “the perfect” bow.
That BG paper is soooooo cute!! Luv it!!
October 23rd, 2009 at 11:05 pmThis is TOOOOOOO cute Kristina!! Now you have made this set of paper and stamp “must haves!!!!” Thanks for sharing!

October 29th, 2009 at 2:54 pmthanks for sharing
Hey Kristina,
Love the cupcake card!
I’m complaining though…. Because everytime you make a cute card like this they sell out of all the things you use at Two Peas. Maybe you should let them know in advance what to stock up on… because this happens everyitme!!! LOL
Oh And I used to love your music selections on the videos, I’d go and buy those too!
October 30th, 2009 at 7:20 pmToo bad about all those copyright laws huh!

November 3rd, 2009 at 12:51 pmYour stitch line is absolutely perfect!
Thanks a lot for your video!
I love the card; the cupcake is too cute. I used your design for inspiration to make my own card and I finally got to use Dawn McVey’s stamp set Scattered Showers!
Thanks for the inspiration!
