Holiday Card Series - Day 1

Good morning, all!

I’m so excited to share my “secret” project with you all! A few months back, I was trying to think of something I could do here for all of you for the holidays and got the crazy idea to create 25 videos of holiday cards. Crazy, right? I was all, “Naaa… only do 12. It’s easier.” But then I started wondering if I could actually do it. And don’t tell me I can’t do something because then I’ll want to do it even more! And so… here we are!

2009 HOLIDAY CARD SERIES: For the next five weeks, November 2 through December 4, there will be a new video posted here on each weekday (Monday – Friday). On Fridays, you’ll get a HCS video and a Finally Friday video. ;)

This project was totally fun to do, but as soon as December 4th comes around, it’s back to business as usual. Seriously, I don’t think I want to attempt to do something like this again for a long LONG time. LOL! And hopefully ya’ll won’t get sick of me posting a new video every day! :)

Anyhow, enjoy!

NOTE: Check the supply list below for links to the font I used. :)

Patty November 2, 2009 at 8:30 pm

HEY KRISTINA… WHICH KIND OF PRINTER DO YOU HAVE ???? I BELIVE IS A SPECIAL ONE.. WOULD DO MIND LET ME KNOW.

THANKS !! LOVING YOUR VIDEOS EVERY SECOND.. AND WATCHING THEM AGAIN AND AGAIN…

Kristina Werner November 2, 2009 at 9:29 pm

Actually, I don’t have a special printer. Just a 5-year-old Epson all in one printer. :) I also have a small Epson PictureMate printer for scrapbook photos. It’s also old, about 4 years old. :)

Katie W. November 2, 2009 at 9:22 pm

Wow! You’re amazing! I can’t even begin to imagine the time you’ve put into this! My kids love watching your videos…often my husband will come home from work and we’ll be sitting on the couch watching your videos. This will be great motivation for me to get busy on my own Christmas cards.

If you get a chance, will you take the time to comment on why you switched to the Cricut? Thanks!

Kristina Werner November 2, 2009 at 9:29 pm

I switched to a Cricut purely because of the size. Silhouette’s cannot cut 12×12 paper, while the Cricut can. :)

Barbara M November 2, 2009 at 9:26 pm

WOW.. Thank YOU!! Great fun for us all. I will be tuning in. Merry Christmas!!

Emma November 2, 2009 at 9:28 pm

Hi Kristina – So loving the surprise this morning! Question – I’ve been trying to get my SCAL to cut from my cricut create but I keep getting the firmware version error. It should be 1.5.1and my cricut is 1.5.0. Do you know of where i can download the correct firmware without having to buy the cricut design studio and do you think I need them both?

Kristina Werner November 3, 2009 at 5:28 am

Unfortunately, you will have to get the Cricut Design Studio to update your firmware. However, the good news is you can do it with the trial version of the software. :) Just go to the cricut website and download the software. I think you get a 30-day trial. Just update the firmware within those 30 days and then uninstall the program from your computer and you’ll be back in business. :) Hope that helps!

Tonia G November 3, 2009 at 7:53 am

ScrapyCrafter November 2, 2009 at 11:27 pm

wow! chic! U totally rock!! What a way to relax and watch you every day now for 25 days after a loooooong 12 hour shift at the hospital!! YES!!

Question about the Paper Trey Ink pads, are they like the Color Box chalk inks you use? Good quality?

Kristina Werner November 3, 2009 at 5:26 am

I think they’re a hybrid ink… not sure what of, though. LOL! The regular colors sort of remind me of SU inks (dye-based inks), but the white and cream colors are really awesome. Much better than SU’s craft ink which never seems to dry. Hope that helps! :)

Anyway, this is probably one of the best christmas gifts this year… Thank you so much and I look forward to seeing all of the videos.
