Finally Friday - You're My Cup of Tea

Good morning, all!

A couple weeks ago, I made a cupcake card using BasicGrey’s Nook & Pantry collection. It was such a hit and I loved it so much, I knew I had to make another card using the collection. This time, instead of a cupcake, it’s a little teacup from the Cup of Tea stamp set. Now, I’m not a big tea drinker, but I had my fair share of tea parties as a girl, so this little teacup was just calling out to me. Too cute!

And then the awesome rickrack and dots came from another stamp set from the collection, Crumpets. Love it!

CHALLENGE: Create a card with a custom “scallop border” using smaller circles adhered behind cardstock. Upload your card to the TwoPeas gallery, select this week’s Finally Friday video, and your card will appear at the bottom of the Finally Friday page! :)

Wow we get a Finally Friday too?!! You’re spoiling us Kristina! Thanks so much. I love this little card. The circle punched scalloped edge has always been a favorite technique of mine. This is so sweet!

Lovely card !
Can you tell me the diameter of the big circle.
Thanks again for sharing.

Unfortunately, I don’t recall. I cut it using a Coluzzle template, so I didn’t actually measure it. You should be able to just “eye ball it” and get a similar size. :)

Great idea to make a scalloped edge this way. Love the muted hues that you’re used. Thanks again for sharing your ideas. Your cards are the nicest I’ve seen on any blog.

I never would have known that the scalloped edge to the circle was created with individual circles! Thanks for showing us. :)

Diana November 6, 2009 at 8:01 pm

After seeing your cupcake card I had to buy the same set (I got so excited when you got so excited making it on your video) and also bought this tea set. I am not a tea drinker either but I love the look of cups and tea pots.
And the punched circles to make a scallop….please, you are just too creative.

I love this card!! I just made my first purchase at “Two Peas” a few days ago. I’m excited to get it in the mail, but now I wish I would have bought this stamp set. :)
Thank you for making all of these beautiful cards and sharing them with us. I’m also happy to know that can use my small punch to make the circles for the scallops. Have a wonderful weekend.
