Day 5 – Holiday Card Series – Three Ornaments

Holiday Card Series

NOTE: There is also a Finally Friday video today. Check it out!

Here we are at the end of the first week! Can you believe it? Today’s card uses a stamp set from Stampin’ Up! called Tree Trimmings. I love this stamp set because of the shapes of the ornaments–so traditional and endearing. Love them! And ornaments really are a simple and elegant image on cards, aren’t they? :)

The Holiday Card Series will pick back up on Monday with Day 6. :)

NOTE: I’ve received a LOT of questions about the music included in the videos. It is a 10-second clip of royalty-free music I purchased online. It’s not a real song from an album. :)

Watch video below | Watch at Youtube

Three Ornaments – Stampin’ Up! cardstock in Naturals Ivory; Stampin’ Up! inks in Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron; Stampin’ Up! Tree Trimmings stamp set; Stampin’ Up! Chocolate Chip marker; Ranger Stickles Glitter in Silver.

I am so jealous of your handwriting and what a treat, you are going to be doing videos on the weekends too! I guess I just assumed you would skip those!! Very cute card and it shows how to make a simple and beautiful card!

Lovely. I have stickles, but I have yet to use them. I’m going to give them a try with a similar card. Thanks for the inspiration.

I logged on today to look at Finally Friday and was rewarded with 25 days of holiday cards! What a bonanza – 5 days at once. Great idea and wonderful cards. Thank you.

So inspirational to watch your videos. Thanks for all that you do to encourage us.

I wonder – will you be putting together a review each week, just so I can copy one file with several ideas?

Emmy November 6, 2009 at 9:11 am

Two words…simple elegance. I just love the whimsy little loops they are hanging from. I need to take your advice and just slow down when writing and see if it makes a difference. Have a fabulous weekend!!

Oh, I so wish that you had a book on how to learn your handwriting. I just love it – and that SU set from 2 days ago – love it too!

Monica November 6, 2009 at 5:11 pm

I am loving the Holiday card series. Thank you for putting so much time into it. I will be so very sad when it ends.

Thanks again…

Loydene November 6, 2009 at 5:29 pm

Before I even watch the video I have to say what a pretty card!

Mary November 6, 2009 at 6:25 pm

I have an idea… how about creating a font of your handwriting and selling it???? Kind of like the virtual card club??? So many people love your handwriting. I saw a website where you can download your own handwriting to create a font: http://kevinandamanda.com/fonts/fontsforpeas/how-do-i-use-these-fonts/

Kristina Werner November 7, 2009 at 10:12 pm

There’s a section of my FAQ that covers my handwriting as a font. :) Click here.

Mary November 8, 2009 at 6:52 am

Oh – now I remember reading that. Thanks.

Laura November 6, 2009 at 7:25 pm

This is a beautiful card. I love the ornaments.

Diana November 6, 2009 at 7:55 pm

I love your handwriting. I would buy a stamp set of your handwriting. The card is so beautiful. Adding the stickles made it just pop.

Roda November 6, 2009 at 8:41 pm

Love your “free hand” style writing and embellishment of details! You inspire me so much!!!

Mary Lou Hart November 6, 2009 at 10:31 pm

Love the card! I especially love the “Noel.” Wish it was a stamp as I am definitely going to need to practice a lot before my handwriting looks like that. I would also buy a stamp set of your handwriting.

Eveline van Heijst November 7, 2009 at 4:55 am

I love the fact that it is a simple card but with lots of impact.
Eveline.

Vickie Lee November 7, 2009 at 6:45 am

Fabulous creation, Kristina!

Steph November 7, 2009 at 1:55 pm

This card is fantastic, thank you for sharing a Christmas card a day with us! Also, are you designing for Basic Grey? the preview of new collections on their home page totally looks like your style. If so, I can’t wait to see! I’m sure I’ll love it!

Milly November 7, 2009 at 11:24 pm

I rally am loving the christmas videos.
Not sure if they’re all done or not. But I really prefer the cards that are “live,” the ones that are not voiced-over. It’s really nice to hear your though process through it all. It’s part of the creative process I think we like to watch.
No biggie if none were made that way, just a personal preference.
LOVE the series, love your creativity, love ALL your cards!! Thank you so much!
~Milly

Cyn Chapman November 8, 2009 at 8:32 am

WOW what a simple little card that you made look so elegant! Love it!

Carolyn November 8, 2009 at 6:47 pm

Thank you so much for all the cards. I appreciate all the work that you put into this. On the days I can’t get to do anything more crafty than ironing, it’s nice to be able to come here for about 5 minutes and see what you’ve been up to.

Keith November 10, 2009 at 12:43 pm

Congratulations… I love all your creations. You have an unique style. Beautiful!!!!

Yvonne November 16, 2009 at 6:39 am

Hi,
This is the best site I’ve found. Ive learned so much in card making from you. To stay organized, it;s hard but I go through my material about once a month. What I don’t use, I give it to someone who could use it.
