Day 9 – Holiday Card Series – Joy to the World

Good morning, all!
Truth be told, I think this is one of my favorite cards in the series. So simple, yet a bit elegant. :) Anyhow, I used Fancy Pants Designs Christmas Magic paper kit for the card, which unfortunately is sold out at TwoPeas at the moment. Seriously, guys, I’m so SO sorry that some of the supplies I’m using for the HCS are sold out at TwoPeas. It’s so hard to anticipate what will be sold out in November when you’re filming videos in September. :)
But it’s all about the idea, right? You can use this card as a jumping off point to create a card with different supplies. Use what you have on hand, and make it your own. It’s more fun like that, anyway. :)
BTW, the paper in the background in the photo is from the same Christmas Magic paper kit.
Anyhow, enjoy!
NOTE: I’ve received a LOT of questions about the music included in the videos. It is a 10-second clip of royalty-free music I purchased online. It’s not a real song from an album. :)

Question. Where do you buy the ColotBox ink pads from?
There are many stores online that sell ColorBox chalk inks. You might trying googling it to see what’s available.
just wanted to say thanks for all of your inspiration. I have my usual blogs that I check everyday, but always save yours for last because I know it will be the best. It is such a relaxing video to watch, with the calming intro music and your soothing voice. (Hope that does not sound to sappy) Keep up the GREAT work

November 12th, 2009 at 12:48 pmHello:
I am very much like to see you doing here so simple and beautiful card!
I ask ~ that the white snow covered with a transparent film is a ready-made bought this way, or how to do it?
It’s printed on the acetate sheet. :)
Just beautiful! I almost thought the white flourish was just stamped & embossed on the kraft. So great to see all of the steps taken to create this. Thanks again! :)
November 12th, 2009 at 1:28 pmYour confession was so cute! Now I’m all curious about what the other card looked like. :)

November 12th, 2009 at 4:37 pmThanks for all the inspiration and hard work.
This is my favorite too. GORGEOUS!
November 12th, 2009 at 4:58 pmYou might find this weird, but whenever I watch your video the first-time around (yes, I watch it several times after – LOL), I usually find myself talking to the screen. “No, a little bit lower to the left… yes, over there towards the right…” And the funny thing was, you always put whatever it is at the spot I was hoping it will be. That just goes to show how good a teacher you are. Just by watching your video, you have taught me image balance. Isn’t that great? :D
Btw, I don’t claim to have your creative genius mind you… it is just so reassuring to have you confirm that “yes, I am indeed starting to learn”
Love this card! From the picture you can’t even tell that it was used making a transparency sheet. Very elegant!

It does make me feel good to know you make mistakes. I have learned to be patient with myself over the years in making cards. So thank you for reminding us you can make mistakes and just move on to make a great card.
November 12th, 2009 at 7:36 pmI love this card. I was wondering where you would write the message so it wouldn’t mess up the pretty card and you answered my question at the end of the video! Love that transparency!
