Day 20 – Holiday Card Series – Happy Holidays

Hi, all! So sorry today’s card is so late. I went out to do a bit of shopping this morning at Ikea, and then found myself assembling my new TV stand and side tables. Man, that TV stand had a million steps! It took a couple hours to put together and that was with my brother helping!
Then, mid-afternoon, I crossed the room to turn up the heat on the thermostat, and I guess I had a lot of static electricity built up or something because I shocked the thermostat! It stopped working… I fried it! LOL! I reset it, took the batteries out… nothing. So, then I braved the Black Friday crowds again to buy a new programmable thermostat. After all, I didn’t want to freeze tonight. Once again my brother came to the rescue and helped install it. THEN, I went out to dinner with pretty much my entire SU team from when I worked there. Gosh, I love those girls! We were at the restaurant for nearly 3 hours! :)
Anyhow, it was a busy day! So, here I am with the card for today. Enjoy!

OK. Reading about your day made me tired. Thanks for another great card.
November 27th, 2009 at 10:31 pmLove this adorable card…you are so inspiring, thanks for sharing your wonderful designs!
November 27th, 2009 at 10:38 pmlove the stamp set and green one of my favorite colors.
Kristina, I was wondering where do you buy your chalk ink from?
There are a lot of online retailers that sell Colorbox ink. Try googling it and you’ll find a store. :)
Awesome card today! Worth the wait. :) Ikea always makes me tired… so much assembly. It’s always worth it, though.
November 27th, 2009 at 11:03 pmWOW! I can not get over how perfect your handwriting is!
November 27th, 2009 at 11:08 pmGreat card!
Your day sounds like fun! Except for being so shocking you break things LOL
N.
WOW! Sounds like you had an awesome Black Friday (unfortunately I live in Canada so I dont get to get in on the deals :( at least I have boxing day!)

November 27th, 2009 at 11:19 pmwhen are you going to make that narwhal card?!!? im so excited for it! haha :)
November 27th, 2009 at 11:26 pmSorry about the static, we have it here really bad as well. I think your whole blog following will go into withdrawals if you ever decide to not do videos, lol lol. Glad you had a great day shopping. Love the card, and I’m really enjoying (learning) from all the tips you’re giving as you describe what you are doing. Like picking your hand up as you draw. I watch you do your writing and it looks so simple, I’ve tried it, it’s not as easy to have it turn out looking as good as yours. Practice I guess! Thanks again for another super card!!
November 28th, 2009 at 12:01 amWow, that’s what I call a busy day indeed! Glad in ended up on a friendly note! And thanks for another fabulous card!

Warm greetings from Ikea-land (Sweden). I really love how you make your cards.
November 28th, 2009 at 12:58 amThanks for the inspiration! This stamp set is soooo cute :)
Enjoy your new furniture and TV (I know exactly how you’re feeling, we just bought a new TV, Blu-Ray and home theater system + an Ikea TV stand to accommodate the behemoth TV just a few months ago.
For the first 30 minutes after putting up the TV, my husband and I just sat down on the sofa, stared at the closed TV and laughed.
November 28th, 2009 at 1:12 amThanks for this supercute card!!!

Glad you had a great time at dinner, hope it made up for the not so good parts of your day! Love this card, cute image and beautiful colour combo.
November 28th, 2009 at 5:24 amJo x
Another cute card – you need to find someone to produce sentiment stamps using your handwriting. I would buy a set like that. I have handwriting envy.
November 28th, 2009 at 5:27 amYes, I also love your handwriting. I really love the striped paper on here. It woud have been a great card without the reindeer part too. The diagonal stripes and bow are so festive. Great job Kristina!
November 28th, 2009 at 6:17 amGreat card! I love how you combined the sentiment with the outline. I always wondered what you’ve been doing since you left SU! Free-lance graphic design? I’ve also always wondered which SU! papers you designed. Maybe you can address that on one of your posts. :-)
November 28th, 2009 at 6:30 amSimply adorable… Love the video…
November 28th, 2009 at 6:31 amHi Kristina,

November 28th, 2009 at 8:13 amSounds like you had an interesting day yesterday :)
Cute card! I love it.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:40 amWow, your day sounds like it was “shocking!” Haha! Love that little reindeer; love the whole stamp set. Speaking of your handwriting, I love my “Absolutely Fabulous” set from SU! I’ve purchased every set that has what I believe to be your handwriting. So glad to hear that you’re still close to the SU! girls. I’ll bet they just love you too.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:11 amHope you have a more relaxing weekend. See you Monday! :)
I just love your cards, so simple yet all the elements to make a perfect card are there! This one is no different! I will have to CASE this one :)

November 28th, 2009 at 11:33 amVery cute card!! I love them all. I get so excited to see what you have created for the next day. :) I’m so sorry to hear about your thermostat. I’m glad you got it fixed!! I went shopping and was at Sears for 4 AM. I will NEVER do that again. There were so many people pushing and screaming. I got the little thing I wanted, stood in line for over an hour and went home. LOL. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you for making videos and inspiring us to create.
November 28th, 2009 at 12:52 pmWhat? Do you not work at SU anymore? I guess I’m behind! And here I was thinkin I was your biggest fan!
LOL! I haven’t worked at SU since last February. :)
Cute card. Your stamping is very clean. Perhaps you might consider a video on how to get clean clean results when stamping and talk about the various types of inks when using clear or rubber stamps. Thanks.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:02 pmWhat a beautiful script you have! I couldn’t get it to look that nice if I did it with rub ons or on the computer. Adorable card.
November 28th, 2009 at 3:45 pmvery cute little reindeer. hope you decide to do this next year too. your ideas are so cute.
November 28th, 2009 at 5:47 pmYour handwriting is beautiful. Thank you for the teaching on the use of a white gel pen, you are a good teacher.I hope it does not get old hearing another comment saying “I am so spoiled getting to see one of your card video’s a day”.I dont want it to end!I hope the support and encouragement from your groupies will prompt you to do this again next Christmas or maybe even a card countdown for Valentine’s Day. Well, just know we love what you do and appreciate the time and effort it takes to make these video’s. I loved hearing your black Friday story, it sounded like it ended on a great note-friends and food.

oh, my!
Thank you so much for sharing so many beautiful stuff with us!
Ha. I need to visit IKEA for the same things as you! Thank goodness for Brothers! Even though I’m pretty stinkin’ good when it comes to assembling things, but brothers just have that flow (even if it takes just as long – i think its because of IKEA) !
That card is absolutely adorable!! :)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend (or what’s left of it ;)
November 29th, 2009 at 12:03 pmYour card was well worth the wait. Very cute card. Sounds like you have a challenged weekend but all came out in the end. Thanks

November 30th, 2009 at 11:20 amSee you tomorrow!
What an adorable card.
Your handwriting is incredible! I want a font made out of it. Have you considered it?
Your question is answered in the FAQ. :)
Love this card! Still having fun with my white get pen – will have to give the long lines a try, so thanks for the tip on helping to make it steadier.
November 30th, 2009 at 5:08 pmThe words “some assembly required” makes me cringe, though I do love Ikea! Good that your brother was on hand to help you out (twice!) :^) Brothers are SO good that way!
The little reindeer reminds me of my 7 month old son!!!
