Day 23 - Holiday Card Series

Good morning, all!

For today’s card (can you believe we’re at day 23? CRAZY!) I made a card with lots of embossing on it. I used Maya’s Road Snowflakes stamp set, VersaMark Dazzle ink in Frost, and American Crafts clear embossing powder. For the sentiment, I decided to cut out the label-ish shape from some Cosmo Cricket paper.

Enjoy!

NOTE: I’ve received a LOT of questions about the music included in the videos. It is a 10-second clip of royalty-free music I purchased online. It’s not a real song from an album. :)

I really like this card. I am starting to become a fan of embossing..I am going to have to try that someday! I am also becoming a fan of non-traditional colors for Christmas :)

What a great simple fast card, love that you used the dark cardstock. If you were to use this would you put a paper insert on the inside to write on?

Kristina Werner December 2, 2009 at 7:36 am

Yep. That’s excatly what I would do. Either that or use a white gel pen. :)

I love this card – so pretty on the black. Where do you get your envelopes for all of the cards and their different sizes? I love to make the cards just need to find a way to mail them. :)

I really like the card. The tip on tying one sided ribbon was a treasure for me. I’ll start practicing immidiately!

I love this black card, so regal. I think I’m gonna do some variations on black Christmas cards to give out. I’m really sad that we’re already on day 23. I really loved seeing all the different cards and techniques you share. Great job Kristina.

I was hoping that shape was an SVG file. Bummer. I love this card!

What a gorgeous card! The embossing makes it look so elegant. It’s sad that there are only two days left in your Christmas card series. It has been educational and inspiring. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Great card Kristina! I’ve been struggling with embossing since I started watching your videos last year. You make it look so easy. All my struggles ended when I threw out my old embossing pads and invested in some Versamark. What a huge difference that made! I’m now an embossing maniac!!! LOL! Thanks for sharing all your great tips and ideas!

Angie (your Utah neighbor) December 2, 2009 at 8:38 am

Who would’ve ever thought about making a Christmas card on black cardstock? It was brilliant! This card is beautiful. :) In your opinion, do you think there is any cardstock that is equivalent to SU’s?
Have a great day and try to stay warm!
Angie

Nice one. The thing I have enjoyed most with this series of videos is that you are demonstrating different techniques and papers from various suppliers. It’s a great way to expand our comfort level and try new things. Thanks.

Beautiful card. The red ribbon just makes it pop.
I love the tips you give in the videos, I just cant say that enough. I am learning so much from you.
My Christmas cards this year have white embossing and rounded corners.

Nenita Ang December 2, 2009 at 9:28 pm

Can’t believe there’s only 2 cards left. I don’t want this series to end. Waaahhh… Hope you’d do this again.

Cat December 3, 2009 at 12:35 am

I am so sad that this series of 25 holiday cards is coming to an end. Your videos have been a tremendous source of inspiration for me during this holiday season and I can’t make a card now without my corner chomper. Thanks so much and I hope to catch you in action soon again.

Sylvia December 3, 2009 at 3:09 am

This card is so, so awesome!!!!

Gayle W. December 3, 2009 at 5:27 am

Love this card! I was just making some cards with clear embossing … love it. The ribbon is awesome and gives a great “pop” to the card. We’ve actually been calling it “double-sided” ribbon?! With a dotted side and a solid side, it’s like having two kinds of ribbon in one and so versatile depending on your project.

Elisa December 3, 2009 at 6:17 am

simple, beautiful!!!!

Cathy December 3, 2009 at 7:54 am

Great card! I love how simple and elegant this is!

Lori December 3, 2009 at 9:14 pm
