in Cards, Make a Card Monday

Make a Card Monday

Morning, all!

We’re back to our regular schedule with Make a Card Mondays. :) For this week’s card, even though you’ve just seen 25 holiday cards, I made another holiday card. LOL! I’ll continue these up until after Christmas, so you’ll see a few more.

For the sentiment, I used Ali Edward’s Technique Tuesday stamp set, Peace Joy Love. I love how the words are separate in this set–it allows you to use just bits and pieces of the phrase, or the entire thing like I did here. I also used a stamp set from Inkadinkado. For paper, I used My Mind’s Eye.

Enjoy!

Great Card and good use of different paper. I’ve started putting my glitter and embossing powders in bigger containers. It’s so much neater on my desk now, thanks to you. But I still wind up with glitter on my face somehow:)

Again…a great big “thanks” for the HCS!! It was fab. :)

Loved the card as always. Colors didn’t show on my computer as reds though. I saw more orange or peach. I actually clicked on your web link to see colors of paper. Don’t know if that is my computer or just the video. Either way still loved the card.

Danell December 7, 2009 at 6:24 pm

Love the card and the use of new valentine’s day paper. I know it is early to be thinking of valentine’s day, but are there any other paper packs for valentine’s day that you just love??
Thanks so much!

Cathy December 7, 2009 at 7:12 pm

Very cute card…also loved the Christmas series. This was a surprise though – no idea the red paper was actually part of a Valentine pack!

Tauna December 8, 2009 at 12:33 pm

Wow, I just ran into your youtube stuff while seaching for ways to use my Cricut and SCAL. I know that I’ll be watching that for many months to come while I figure out how to really use my machine.

Thanks for sharing.

I do have questions about SVG files. Where is the best place to get them?

Kristina Werner December 8, 2009 at 1:37 pm

There are a ton of websites out there with SVG files. You can probably google it and find them. I do know that all the digital cut kits at twopeas have SVG files in them: Digital Die-cut Kits at TwoPeas

Debbie Mercer December 8, 2009 at 2:41 pm

Hi Kristina. Great card! Thanks for the great tip on using supplies for things other than their original intent.

One of my favorites of all time. Beautiful job.

Karen Acevedo December 9, 2009 at 1:28 pm

Just wanted to point out to all the readers who want to buy a corner chomper that its available for about 18 dollars with free shipping, since its out of stock at TwoPeas (I asked and they said they don’t even have an idea of when it’s coming in). That’s all!

Love the card Kristina, it might be one of my favorites :)

Daisy December 10, 2009 at 8:09 am

OMG! Thought u would want to be one of the 1st to know that We R Memory Keepers have come out w/ TWO new corner chompers – one in a scallop/cloud shape (that’s the one I got =o) and the other is a picture corner/victorian curve ^_^

Ida December 10, 2009 at 6:41 pm

This is quite pretty and very unique with the different color scheme.

Ann December 12, 2009 at 7:45 pm

Although this card is easy,it is so special!

Winter December 12, 2009 at 10:04 pm

Very cute! I love the colors and what a great idea to use Valentines paper! :)

Sharon D. December 14, 2009 at 12:46 pm

I know I’m way late commenting, but wanted to say thanks for this inspiration – very cute card. This is a good reminder to look at supplies with fresh eyes, to see what else they could be used for. Always good to try to get the most out of our supplies – helps make the craft budget go further!

Aime December 16, 2009 at 2:07 pm

Hi Kristina,

I know I’m chiming in kind of late on this card…I’m behind on my blog reading!

I was curious how you are feeling about the VersaMark Dazzle ink? It’s hard to tell from the photo if it came out dazzleish or not. It might be pretty for my Valentine cards if it works well.

Kristina Werner December 16, 2009 at 4:08 pm

I actually didn’t notice a huge visible difference between Dazzle and regular. However, the embossing does cover it up quite a bit. The Dazzle did give it a bit of a blue duotone, though. A slight shimmer. I need to experiment with it more to see what else I can do with it. :)
