Ghost of Christmas Past

Hi all!

It’s Christmas Eve Eve. :) Time to look back at some archived Christmas fun. For those of you that are just discovering my blog, this will be new. But for those who have been with me since the beginning (bless you!), this will be a walk down memory lane. :) And if you have a favorite vintage holiday card or post from my blog, please leave a comment telling me (and others) what it was. I think the best part of having a blog that’s nearly 4 years old is looking back on old entries and discovering something “new.” :)

TIP:

This was such a fun post! I think I started following you blog December 2007, I can’t believe it has been 2 years. I really like this card, the scallop edge technique and I just love the colors. I remember really liking the original Christmas music on the video too.

It is hard to choose my favorites since I love them all and look forward to Monday’s and Friday’s for your new ones. I do have two that inspired me to make my own cards last year… they are from MACM Merry Christmas (Clear) 11/10/08 and MACM Merry & Bright posted 11/03/08. I really loved them and made my cards from those!

Hey!
sorry this comment has nothing to do with this post. i ran out of adhesive in the middle of a scrapbook and ran to the store today to buy more. i remember you recommending tombow mono and i was surprised at the price of adhesives these days. I looked up the refills online and i thought i would send you the link because i know you use tombow mono aswell. I dont work for the company for anything. just thought it was a good deal. happy holidays.

I love your work, I follow you daily even if nothing is new just to be sure I did not miss an email from you regarding your site. I just learned about your site in late summer and started my own blog in September 09. I look forward to 2010 and seeing what you have to show. You do awesome work and love the clear details, simplicity but elegant look to what you do. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.

Helen December 23, 2009 at 9:24 pm

merry christmas!

levona December 23, 2009 at 9:49 pm

thanks for sharing all your great ideas and tips! wishing you a merry christmas and new year.

one question: what do you do with any “ugly” cards you migh make? do you give them out? (and by “ugly” i’m pretty certain any “ugly” cards you have ever made are probably still nicer than my best ones):)

Emma December 23, 2009 at 9:56 pm

I was wondering about your private life if you don’t mind. I presumed you were single, but in one of the above older links you mention your four year old?? Or did I get off track and get that off one of the other blogs from this site?

ness December 24, 2009 at 12:27 am

Just wanted to say “Happy new year from Israel”.
L O V E your blog. Learned so much from it so thank you!

I have 2 all time faves….both of which I play when I need to get into the zone to either get a card done for someone or prep for a workshop. The second I must have played a hundred times, fell in love with the original song you had with it, which is now on my iPod for stampin & such.
If my 5 &6 year old kids are sniping at each other, all I have to do is yell, “who wants to watch a MACM viveo?” problem solved.

Eveline van Heijst December 25, 2009 at 7:28 am

Somebody on SCS made a card based on one of your MACM cards (feb. 18th 2008). So I checked it out on youtube, found your blog and I’m a follower ever since that time. And when you put that same card in your etsy shop I bought it immediatly. It hangs on the wall in my craftroom.

Well, ya know I love hanging around here… and I’ve been hangin’ a while! I love those first cards too! MY all time favorite was the one you made with the punched circles turned ornaments.

Hope you have a very Merry Christmas! Hugs!

Sara Spencer December 25, 2009 at 3:22 pm

Love your blog. Thank you for sharing so many of your beautiful creations. I love the pink tree card
http://kwernerdesign.com/blog/images/1107/112807-christmas4.html
from your “soft christmas colors” blog post. Wondering if you would consider making a tutorial on how to dry emboss a frame on your card like you did on that one. I don’t own a die cut system so I don’t have a way of using those fabulous nestability dies that can do it for you. If there is a way to dry emboss without all that I would love to learn how. =) Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
