MACM – My Cup of Tea (+ blender pen)

MACM - My Cup of Tea

Happy Tuesday, all!

Sorry for the delay in the video this week. It took forever to export the video last night and upload it to YouTube. I mean, hello! This stinkin’ thing is over 10 minutes long! I eventually went to bed while it was uploading. And I’m SO sorry you have to hear me ramble on and on in it… Seriously, after not doing one of these videos for two weeks, I’m a little rusty. :)

Anyhow, I used some of my new supplies on this card. I broke out Hero Art’s Dot stamp and layering papers, and then threw in an older Hero Arts stamp set, So Sweet.

Also, I had a few questions about using blender pens come up while I was organizing my Q&A video (coming soon!). So I thought I’d stick some blender pen tips in the video, too.

Enjoy!

Very cute card and love what you did to the banner to make it like movement. Great job as always.

Debbie January 5, 2010 at 6:07 pm

I always look forward to your cards. You make them look so simple to do but they are always wonderful. I could never come up with so many wonderful ideas. Keep up the creativity.

Holly January 5, 2010 at 6:32 pm

This card is adorable…. OMG!! I love the trick with the clear stamp an bending it.. I would never of thought of that.

Carol Austin January 5, 2010 at 6:39 pm

Very pretty card. I am going to try this one on the weekend.

I’m so happy MACM is back! It’s so nice – just like a morning cup of coffee. Love the card. Super cute. :)

G2ENE January 5, 2010 at 8:44 pm

Great card! Love the banner and the colors. Thanks for demo’ing the circle punch in the center — it seemed so simple to do!

Keep up with Dexter — I watched this last season that just ended and it’ll be worth watching all the episodes to catch up with. Don’t want to spoil it but all I can say about this last season is John Lithgow(!). Think you’re a Cranford fan too – I cried the entire last half-hour of that show (over muslin!)…

Very cute card! I love it!

Susan January 5, 2010 at 9:23 pm

OMG!!! You are the best of the best. I love how you improvize. I just can’t get enough of you!

Kelly in Canada January 5, 2010 at 9:29 pm

So cute! I love how you did the banner! What colour PTI ribbon did you use? It doesn’t look like Spring Moss on my monitor. Is it Ocean Tides or Aqua Mist?

Oh my! I have been a die hard “Dexter” fan since its debut. When I first heard the premise of the show, I thought, “Ew! Who’s going to watch that?” but, because it was starring Michael C. Hall (from “Six Feet Under”), I thought I’d give it a shot. As someone else posted earlier, it just keeps getting better and better each season. If you think you are addicted now, just wait!!!

Kristina Werner January 6, 2010 at 7:31 am

I think it might be Ocean Tides. :)

Darlene DeVries January 5, 2010 at 10:19 pm

I think this may be the cutest card I’ve seen you make, and I’ve been watching for a long time! Love it!

Nicole January 6, 2010 at 12:06 am

Hi there, I have just started watching your videos and they are fantastic! Am just beginning in all things craft and have found your ramblings very helpful indeed.
Also I have just finished the 4th season of Dexter and it is addictive… You get so caught up with the storyline and dexter not getting caught that you forget about the gore after awhile so keep on watching it (:

Eveline van Heijst January 6, 2010 at 12:21 am

Great card. Love the banner.
Eveline.

Connie January 6, 2010 at 12:27 am

Okay, now why didn’t I think of using a template to center the circle punch? That’s very cool! Thanks for another beautiful card – it doesn’t look like you’re that rusty afterall!!

Tarynne January 6, 2010 at 2:00 am

very cute card!! I’m gald you’ve jumped on the Dexter boat! We don’t hav e Showtime so we waited until the DVDs came out then would watch a season in one night… season 4 is the first we actually watched on TV! It gets better and better each season.. just when you think they can’t top it, they do!

We also do Dexter Dessert night on Sunday when its on. We’ve had bloody sundaes (with strawberry sauce). killer cones (vanilla cones upside down in a cup) burial brownies… lundy lemon bars, lol.

Enjoy it!!

Love the banner technique. tfs

Kristin G. January 6, 2010 at 7:07 am

Great card, I love the banner. Also I started watching Dexter this past summer. I only got part way through the second season. I liked it a lot, but I was living by myself and started having weird dreams. It’s really hard, but try not to watch too many in a row, your subconscious starts acting weird.

Robin B. January 6, 2010 at 7:22 am

Well worth the wait. Your card is awesome. And I love the colors. Reminds me of springtime.

Kimmie January 6, 2010 at 9:25 am

Happy New Year! LOVE the card!!

Omgosh please stay away from anything that says Dexter because chances are you will get spoiled like what happened to me! I’m on season 3 now! Love Dexter!

Barb :) January 6, 2010 at 9:39 am

Kristina, oh my gosh, it is so good to see a new video from you!! And I didn’t think you rambled on THAT much…No, really, it was great! Awesome card and techniques. Thank you so much! My favorite ALL TIME show is “24″!!! It is so riveting! I start out watching it on the couch, and by the end of each episode, I am about 2 feet from the TV, with my hands over my mouth!! It is the BEST!!

Adrian January 6, 2010 at 10:04 am

Love the card! For a larger stamp block, I use a 8×8 quilters ruler and it works well, especially with the grid lines.

Can’t wait for the next one!

Rebekah January 6, 2010 at 11:07 am

You need to watch FRINGE!!!!! IT’S AMAZING!!!

Monica K. January 7, 2010 at 4:07 pm

I agree! Fringe is awesome too and also very addicting!

Sue Givens January 6, 2010 at 2:15 pm

Great card Kristina — love your work and I watch your videos every chance that I get. Happy New Year and Take care.

Iliana January 6, 2010 at 3:45 pm

I notice that when cards are old, they are in plastic bags. Where can I get those bags? Thanks

Kristina Werner January 6, 2010 at 6:59 pm

I’m not entirely sure what you’re referring to, but are you asking about cello bags? They ones I use are from Stampin’ Up: http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=102210

Barb. Smith January 7, 2010 at 9:14 am

Great card. I especially liked the way you curved the stamp on the block. Good idea.

Bonnie January 7, 2010 at 12:58 pm

This is an awesome card! TFS….Dexter is very addictive…we spent the Christmas break watching the first two seasons…Does your current playlist (Chopin) have anything to do with the show?

Kristina Werner January 7, 2010 at 3:24 pm

LOL! No, but it did remind me that I had a bunch of Chopin in my iTunes. :)

Vickie Lee January 7, 2010 at 3:53 pm

Kristina – you are an ARTIST!! Love this card and all the special touches you did. Thank you!

Monica K. January 7, 2010 at 4:06 pm

Your card is beautiful as always! Love that cute little teacup and the soft colors. Very springlike.

I’m a big fan of Dexter too! :) So excited to find out you like the show too. I’ve been watching from the beginning and it is very addicting! And yes, the 3rd season finale is very shocking. Especially because it comes out of nowhere. But that’s all I’m going to say about it! You’ll see! ;)

Donelda January 7, 2010 at 4:45 pm

awesome card, the colors are so sweet together! I was wondering if I could request some help — via blog input or video input?? I bought some Heat and Stick powder from a neighbor who was clearing out her SU stuff. I have never had “instructions” on how to use it. I’ve tried to “follow along” with the few video’s in which you’ve used it but with very poor resutls!! help!!!!!!! please let me know what I’m doing wrong!! thanks in advance!!

Diana January 7, 2010 at 8:29 pm

I absolutely love this card. I had to go out on e-bay to buy the stamp set, Two Peas was sold out. I just fell in love with the tea cup and I really like the key image in the set. My first new stamp set of the year. One of many I am sure.
Your videos are so awesome, I love your ramblings. I guess I need to check out Dexter, everyone commenting just seems to love the show. I am addicted to Glee.
Happy New Year.

Hi, Kristina! I’m Erica, from Brazil. I’ve been visiting your blog for a while and I just LOVE your work. I’m totally new in this card making thing, but I decided to give it a try. I made this card last night, inspired by yours. I didn’t make the window or the banner, but I did some stamping and kept the same layout. I had so much fun doing this, and I’m so proud that I did, that I want to share with you. Thank you so much for the inspiration! Here’s the link:
