Color Inspiration #57

Happy Wednesday, all!

So, my mom–who is an amazing quilter–is making me a quilt for my living room. I have a comfy red chair and sort of a bone color sofa. Last week we went to pick out fabric and found the perfect fabrics! Most of them (all but two) are from a Joel Dewberry Collection. After taking this picture of the fabric, I knew it had to be a Color Inspiration Challenge.

I nearly didn’t post this Color Inspiration Challenge, though. I don’t want any of you to think this is a return to “weekly” color challenges or anything like that. This does not mean “the Color Inspiration Challenge is back.” It’s just me, excited about this color combination, and I wanted to share. So just have fun with it. :)

Since this is a “one off” challenge, this is how the round-up will work: 5 top picks, 10 random picks. And because I just love new music, the creators of the 5 top picks will each receive a $10 iTunes gift certificate. :)

Oh, and if any of you find a spam link, please contact me. Thanks!

Join us: Make a card/scrapbook page/whatever in the colors above. Color Inspiration virgins, please read the Color Inspiration FAQ first.

Deadline: Tuesday, January 12 at 6:00 pm MT. You will know when the deadline has past because you will not able to submit a new link below (also, the time remaining is displayed next to the “Add your link” button).

Grab this week’s swatch-only image. (If you’re having trouble saving the swatch-only image, try right-clicking on the link and then on “open in new window”).

I reserve the right to delete links that are posted incorrectly.
Has your link been deleted? There’s probably a reason why. Check the FAQ. And if you’re unsure on how to link correctly, view this video.

Hi Kristina,
Nice to have a new challenge again!!! I am so excited! Great color combination.
I see that you are using Mister Linky. Did you know that there is a new tool much easier and more stable? If you like take a look at http://www.inlinkz.com

Kristina Werner January 6, 2010 at 12:13 pm

Thanks for the referral. I’m looking into inlinkz to see if they can customize it a bit more. :)

Hee hee, I was so shocked to see a colour challenge that I hit refresh thinking a much older page had loaded. ;-) I’m happy to participate in my very first Colour Inspiration challenge.

Ok, is this a new feature, where you click on the link and it goes to their page and off your page. It doesn’t open up both at the same time. Does that make sense? Anyway, I wasn’t real sure about the colors at first, but after making a card, now I REALLY like them! I hope to post mine tomorrow! Thanks for the color challenge! :)

Hi Kristina, I used to use your color combinations for my cards (before I started the world of blogging). It’s great that I can now get to participate in one. It’s a bright and fun color combination. Thanks for the inspiration.

It was so fun to participate in one of your challenges again, Kristina. I really miss them! Thanks for the inspiration. The colors were a little hard to pull together since there were so many of them, but it sure was fun to try!

Anna January 10, 2010 at 12:40 pm

I really hope to see a picture of the quilt posted when your mom has finished making it. The fabrics are beautiful and I can’t wait to see the outcome!!!

Thank you so much resurecting the colour challenge Kristina even if it is a ‘one off’. It was so fun to participate, the colours were fabulous to work with!

I hope when you see the response you consider bringing them back, maybe once a month ….

Kristina:
My heart leaped with joy when I saw the color inspriation challenge. I cannot tell you how much these have inspired me in the past. I completely understand that you have to do what you have to do, but I miss them terribly. I so, so wish you would reconsider bringing them back.
Understanding,
Debi
