Hi all!
I have a super special Virtual Card Club for you. It’s all about handwriting and finding your personal style. So often I’m asked about my handwriting–where I learned to write a specific way, if there’s a book on it, etc. It’s super hard to answer that question because there wasn’t just one thing that I did. I’ve always loved handwriting and penmanship, so my natural curiosity has led me to explore my personal handwriting style over and over again.
The one thing that has been constant over the years is that I’ve always practiced and tried other styles. If I find a style I like, I adopt some of those characteristics into my everyday penmanship.
If there’s one thing in life that is a constant, it’s change. My handwriting, and I’m sure all of yours, evolves some day to day and year to year. When I look back at my high school journals I have to laugh. Not just at the topics I wrote about, but at the different styles of handwriting that I tried out. :)
So view this as an opportunity to explore different style and change your penmanship for the better. The more you know about how you create letters, the better you’ll be at it. That’s why this special edition of Virtual Card Club is all about exploring your personal handwriting style. In the 6 page PDF document, I’ll show you a couple examples of style exploration I did a few years ago. And then the last four pages are practice sheets with prompts for 14 different styles + a shape space filling exercise. It should be totally fun!
There are no special supplies needed. Just a pen and some paper. You can print out the practice sheets, or just following along in a notebook or journal. And don’t forget to save and date your practice sheets! It’s super fun to look back at them. Also, since this is a bit of a different VCC, the price is a bit different, too. Lower! Just $4. :)
Anyhow, enjoy! And if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. :)
You’ll also need Adobe Reader to view the PDF file. Download it for free here.
NOTE: There are two different versions. Please choose the version that would print best with your printer. The first is letter size (8.5×11), and the second is for those outside the US that prefer A4.

Would love to join, but extremely busy these days! Thank you so much for the VCC though!! :)
This is so cool, I had to buy it :) Thank you for putting it together, I have just downloaded it and I am excited to see what I can learn. Best wishes from one of your German fans – currently in New Zealand ;)
This is a great idea, Kristina, and thank you for thinking about it. I have always loved to experiment with my handwriting. My mother always practiced hers by writing along the edges of the daily newspaper and I do that too. Now I have a 10 year old granddaughter and she loves to make cards, scrapbook and practice her handwriting. I am excited to show her your plan. I love the idea of keeping, and dating, the samples. Thank you again
how a great idea!!!!
thanks Kristina…I´ll try to buy it via Paypal, but i´ve always had problems, don´t know why…if I have them…is there any other way to pay? etsy shop?
No, it’s not available in my Etsy shop. You actually don’t have to use a PayPal account to put the payment through, though. On the first PayPal screen that comes up, look on the left side. There is a “Don’t have a PayPal account?” area. Just put your credit card through that way. :)
Hope that helps!
Hi Kristina,
just wanted to say thank you for making this tutorial. I’ve been working on improving my handwriting and this is going to be a big help. Thank you for think of the rest of us that use A4 sized papers.
I would be super nice of you to take the time to answer a question. How do you set up that ad to cart and link up to paypal? I would love to that on my blog.
OHHHH thanks so much for this. i was just practicing about two weeks ago on my own (inspired by your penmanship) but i felt like i needed more guidance. this is awesome. i love the filling spaces. it’s really great and i feel like a kid doodling again. :0)
P.S. i love the VCC concept and i am going to work on acquiring the older ones. thanks for sharing and i am happy to show support any way i can.
thank you so much! i bought it and lovee it =)
Thanks so much for this! I really needed it!
I’m a drafter, and in college (about 8 years ago), we had to write the alphabet and numbers until we got it ‘right’. I can print pretty good (plain old block letters), but that look doesn’t work for every scrapbook page and every card.
I think this is a great exercise, and I’m having a lot of fun with it! I have started a handwriting ‘journal’ so I can keep all my practicing in one spot!
Thanks again,
Kim
Thanks for sharing!
My four year old has just become interested in writing letters and words, causing me to reflect on the mechanics behind it. My older kids give me a hard time about my scrawly left handed writing, so I was curious to see if studying handwriting would help mine become more readable. Finding your VCC on this very topic is timely indeed! I’m already having fun exploring different styles and thinking about what’s behind each. Thanks!
