Hi all!

This week’s card was inspired by… well, I’ll just let you watch the video.

Anyway, just the first part of the card took nearly 15 minutes! Normally I wouldn’t spend so much time on just one thing for a card, but it was the first time I’d tried doing anything like that so I didn’t know how long it would take. I think if I do it again, I’ll probably be a bit faster because I’ll already know what to do. At least I hope I would faster.

Ribbon Flower – All supplies from Stampin’ Up! Polka Dot background stamp; Sage Shadow, Basic Gray, and Naturals White card stock; Sago Shadow ink; Pretty in Pink and Basic Gray taffeta ribbon; paper piercer and mat pack.

Awesome idea and card. My mom gave me a quilt with ribbon flowers and now I’m going to put some on cards. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely beautiful!!! The pillows on my bed are made with the ribbon flowers, but I would have never thought to make a card like that! BEAUTIFUL! And you made it look SO easy! Thanks!

TOO FUNNY!! My sis-in-law in Denver has the same shower curtain!! Great job on the card!

Beth January 22, 2008 at 3:21 pm

Kristina lovely card enjoyed the video and I have the same shower curtain from wal-marts.
Definitely going to give this a go.

:) Thanks Sarah for that idea about buying another shower curtain to make the window curtain with. Or it might even be less money to try my hand at embroidering these flowers on plain white material. :)

Hi Kristina!
LOVE the hair! I love that your wore that hair scarf (what do you call it? I have short hair) it looked FAB!! VERY retro. I’m dating myself here.

Also, I’m sure you know now that it would have been faster, easier, etc. w/a needle. A BIG one!

I hope you feel better. Get lots of sleep, zinc, and chicken noodle soup! HOpe to see you stamping soon.

I have the same shower curtain too!!! And imagine all that work (wasn’t it done by hand on there too? I don’t know how it would work otherwise) for a whopping $15 or so. It looks really nifty on the card. You are great. :) love you

Holy Cow! I can’t believe there are so many other stampers out there with the same shower curtain!!! Could it have been the creative side of us that purchased it in the first place?!?!

I’ve been staring at my curtain for months knowing how to do it but just never putting the ribbon to the paper. Of course, I was certain I would be the ONLY person in the world with this great idea…. Glad to actually see it done, and made so simple. I’ll definitely have to check out more of your videos soon! Thanks for sharing!

Hey Cutie-

I HATE your captcha :) No offense, I can never type it right, then I lose my comment I worked so hard on! It always happens.

Anyway – I love the card. Before I even read your note, I thought – “Hey, that looks just like my shower curtain!” That must have been a very popular shower curtain at walmart that year. We got ours about 3.5 years ago at a walmart in North Carolina!! It’s been through 4 houses with us!

The card is lovely!
