Happy Monday, everyone!
I’m continuing in the Valentine’s Day card trend that I started with last week’s Finally Friday video. I have another lovey dovey card for ya. :)
I wanted to create a card with a curved edge on the top, but I also wanted to have some additional pieces inset from the card base. Because I knew it would be easier to cut that design on a cutting machine, I designed the card in the Silhouette Studio software and then cut it out. (Below the MACM at the bottom of this post is another video showing how I created the design in Silhouette Studio).
For the rest of the card, I used a bunch of stuff from the American Crafts Love collection: paper, layered stickers, and paper flowers. Anyhow, enjoy!
NOTE: I cut the card base using textured cardstock from Stampin’ Up! I’ve noted in the past that the American Crafts textured cardstock cuts like butter in digital cutting machines, so I wasn’t prepared for the SU cardstock to do just as well! It worked great! So if you are trying to cut SU smooth cardstock and it’s not working out, try the textured cardstock.
Supplies
Solid Card Stock: Bermuda Bay and Whisper White (Stampin’ Up!)
Patterned Paper: Love Collection (American Crafts)
Layered Stickers: Endless Remarks Stickers (American Crafts)
Paper Flower: Eternal Delights Paper Flowers (American Crafts)
Ribbon: White satin ribbon (Stampin’ Up!)
White Pen: Signo Broad (Uni-ball)
Cutting Machine: Silhouette

Mannie’s all better, right?
Yep. He’s just growing the fur back from the spot on his back leg from the surgery and his front leg from the IV. :)
Another really great card Kristina!

Kristina, thanks so much for including the Silhouette tutorial for this lovely card. I’ve had a Silhouette for several years, but only use it for the design library. You’ve inspired me to try doing some of my own designs. Happy New Year!
Thank you for the great card AND the accompanying silhouette video. I didn’t know about a couple of the tabs you used and can’t wait to play and try them out. Thanks again!
Kristina
I really love the shape of this card and thanks so much for the demo of Silhouette Studio video!
I’ve been thinking I may get this machine as I’ve heard that the cuts are sharper and neater than the cricut…
I would love to see more about the Silhouette and does this software come with the machine.
I know with the cricut you have to buy the Sure Cuts a Lot software extra..
Great tutorial and would love to see more…thanks Kristina and hugs to Mannie and a Happy New Year to you too.
How is your little niece? I’ve had her in my prayers.

The software is free. You can download it silhouetteamerica.co…. The new software hasn’t been out for too long, so most of the machine on sale in stores won’t have it in the box. It will have the older software. But you can just toss the CD and download the new software at the website.
Kristina,
Thank you so much for doing the Silhouette tutorial for this card. Add me to the list of people who have recently purchased one and I have learned more from this tutorial than anything I’ve seen so far.
Thank you!
Hi Kristina, Thanks so much for the cite card and inspiration…I saw the video downloaded the program and have already created a card with the curved top! Hugs, Nicole

Happy New Year Kristina-what a beautiful card, love the colors. You are a wonderful way to start and end the week with MACM & Finally Friday, thank you for continuing to share you wonderful talent. Look forward to another wonderful year, will miss your year in cards, but you are right to scale back and share your thoughts and talent with us when you can, I know everything takes time. And everyone deserves to give themselves a little something extra, although it might not be enough, but it’s a start. My thoughts to you and your family, I hope things get a little better each and every week, I know it has to be hard to imagine that there were bigger plans for your niece. Please take care and be kind to yourself.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the tutorial. I’ve had my silhoutte for years and can use the old software. I am struggling with the new and love how easy you made it look. Thank you! Can’t wait to see more. :)
thank you for the Silhouette video – you are a great teacher. i’m inspired!
The Silhouette video was SO very helpful! I would really enjoy more tutorials on the Silhouette. Thanks for all your inspiring artwork. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
