Finally Friday – Thinking of You (Ink Mist)

© Two Peas in a Bucket

I’m currently obsessed with Mister Huey mists from Studio Calico. They’re just so awesome! I’ve made a few cards using mists recently and though I’m still learning, I wanted to include a misted card for this week’s Finally Friday because mist is a great tool to use on single-layer cards. :)

I used punched butterfly shapes to mask butterflies in the misting. Super easy, but impactful. :)

Create a single-layer card using no dimensional adhesive. Upload your card to the TwoPeas gallery and select this week’s Finally Friday challenge.

Solid Card Stock: Crumb Cake (Stampin’ Up!)
Spray Ink: Mister Huey Mist in Pony (Studio Calico)
Punches: Classic Butterfly All Over Punch and 3-in-1 Butterflies punch (Martha Stewart Crafts)
Letter Stickers: Oxford Alphas (BasicGrey)
White Pen: Gelly Roll White (Sakura); Signo Broad (Uni-Ball)

  1. Kraft, butterflies & misting HOW could you go wrong? Love it! Happy Friday.

  2. Yep, love it! Simple, elegant, not overdone….perfect! The masked butterflies PLUS the stickers give it even more dimension than just a flat card. Well done!

  3. Cute card! I love how you get so many different looks using minimal ingredients!

  4. I have that same Gelly Roll pen and mine has never worked well so I never bought another one.
Maybe I just got a bad one. On the other hand, my Uni-Ball white pen has always worked great!

    • For the most part, all the Uni-Ball Signo Broad pens I’ve used have working well. The ones I have now aren’t working as well, but I think that’s because I bought a bunch of them and these are the last ones. Perhaps they’re getting too dry?

As for the Gelly Roll pen, I’ve had that one for…oh, maybe a year. And just recently used it. I’m super surprised at the quality.

In general, I think white ink is just super difficult to work with on the manufacturing end. It’s hard to get it consistent. So if you find a pen you love, hold on to it. The next one might not be as good. :)

  5. Looove it! <3 It turned out soooo cute, Kristina :)

  6. Keeping away from pop dotty adhesive is a challenge.
I seem to forget about the one layered cards.
    Great job!

  7. I love the color on the butterflies. You could use them on another card.
Also,I love to hear Mannie in the back ground.Hope he’s still doing well.

  8. Great card…I can’t wait to try some misting! wonder if you could punch the Inkadinkado Masking paper and then that would be ready to go right on your card before you mist?

Thanks so much for sharing your ideas and techniques.

  9. This brings to mind a fancy choc dusting on a cappucino :)

  10. Love the misting you did on the card! So simple, but yet, such a great effect!! Love the way it turned out!!! TFS : )

  11. Love how this came out. I too LOVE the Studio Calico mists…so fun!

  12. Hello !
