Morning, all!
We’re on video 3 of my Folded Card series for Friday Focus. One more week of folded cards and then we’ll move on to another topic. Anyhow, once again I used Folding Ideas for Cards and Envelopes as a jumping off point for this week’s card. I know a bunch of you have picked up this book, but it’s awesome! I’ve heard from a few of you that you love it as much as I do. :)

Since there are three parts to this card, I decided to split the sentiment into three segments. As I was thinking about and planning the card, I thought it would look awesome to have the three main words of the sentiment be larger and more substantial–to make them stand out. I created Silhouette cutting files of the three words “Brilliant,” “Strong,” and “Anything,” using my handwriting. I created the words in Illustrator, took screenshots of them, and then auto-traced them in Silhouette Studio (just like I did in this video).
I got the color scheme for this card directly from the Happier 6×6 paper pad from My Mind’s Eye. Such calm and happy colors. Perfect for a card of encouragement. :)
I mention in the video that I used the Sew Easy tool (I have the starter set, but you can buy separate pieces at Simon Says Stamp). I’m still getting the hang of it and it took a long while to do that portion of the card, so I edited all that out of the video. But no worries, I plan to do a video specifically on it in the near future. :)

I love these folded cards you are showing us. Thanks for doing them!!!
Thanks for the inspiration Kristina. I used your Silhouette file and totally CASEd your card. I linked my blog through your challenge gallery.
Love your card! Thanks so much for sharing the silhoutte file. It’s beautiful! Wish my handwriting look half as good!
Kristina, you have really outdone yourself with this one, I love it and had to have a go at this. I used double sided cardstock, it speeded things up A BIT but you’re right it still takes quite a long time. I wish I had a silhouette cutter now… would you consider selling a little pack of the words already cut out?
I put a little flap on the back of my card so that it will stand up (pictured on my blog).
You are such a great designer, and you must be a lovely friend too to send such a thoughtful card.

Thanks.

Have you checked to see if your Silhouette software needs to be updated?
Do you have Silhouette Studio? They file will only work in Silhouette Studio.

Hi Kristina, I have to say this is my favorite card thatyou’ve ever made. It was a great video & alot of details . It came out wonderful. I’m happy to see you’ve branched out into a different kind of style & products. I love seeing that you’ve been using Stampin Up products also. Thanks for sharing. ;0)
I’m in awe of your new tool – the sew easy stitch piercer!! Can’t wait to see the video showing all the ways it can be used!!
Cool card!
Kristina, thank you for sharing!
HI Kristina, just catching up!
This card is so well thought out and put together with beautiful colours and sentiment. I think it is a versatile style for something a bit different. I am getting so used to hearing Mannie in your blogs ,it seems odd if he is not there. LOL!
Now am I the only one wondering about the great music you used at the end of the video? Could it be Jennifer’s relative? Will you tell?
Many blessings and kind regards from Cathy
Thanks! The music is royalty-free music I purchased online. I don’t really know who it is. :)
Thanks for the tip! Having a super time over at Inspiration Showcase!!
Thank-you so much, Kristina, for this beautiful file and instructions for the lovely card you made. Gorgeous work, as always, and I so appreciate your generosity :)
Kristina, this card came at just the right time. I have a friend that is in need of some support and this is perfect! Thanks for sharing.
