Morning, all! I hope your weekend was fabulous!
For today’s card, I wanted to create a tree shape using thread or baker’s twine. I used a green twine from Martha Stewart Crafts, but I don’t think they sell it anymore. Check out the supplies section below for some other suggestions for green baker’s twine. I also used some patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye’s 12 Days of Christmas 6×6 pad.
Tree Template
Anyhow, I created a little template on my computer so that it would be easier to space out the holes. You can download the template HERE. Happy stitching!

Love Love Love it. I had to laugh I was looking for our cat, thought she was crying at the window before I realised it must have been Mannie!!! Gorgeous card Kristina!
Kristina – I think you just created my Christmas card of this year.
THANK YOU!
Love it! I can’t wait to try this card out. As well as the rest of your Holiday Card Series.
Love this card! Thanks for another year of the Holiday Card Series!!!
Another fabulous creation! Love the twine tree…what a fun idea!
Kristina, “Jennifer McGuire’s tape” actually comes in three widths. The green dispenser is for the thinnest width (4 mm), pink is 6 mm wide and blue is 8.4 mm wide. So don’t give up just because it’s not wide enough. I bought this tape based on Jennifer’s recommendation and really like it.
By the way, cute card!
I love this card. There are so many possibilities of what to do with this idea. Blessings!
LOVE this card!! I’m not a stitcher on cards or pages but this one could convert me!
Beautiful, clever card! By the way, I picked up some of the MS twine yesterday at Michaels.
This card is stunning!!
I love this card. I’m looking for the sewing template now…
Also, I did see that twine at Michaels just a couple of weeks ago – in a pack of 2ea of brown, red, and green. I will stop by and pick some up – wish I had then!
Love this card!
Thank you for making all these awesome Videos!
What a refreshingly different design, Kristina! It’s simple yet very cool. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! It’s Ruby Pumps by China Glaze. :)
Very cute card, I am going to try paper piercing as you make it look so easy, thanks for the template, Hugz, Kim
Thanks so much for the giveway to the Holiday Card Boot Camp. These classes are always awesome. I think my most favorite thing to do during the Christmas season is to make Christmas “goodies” for my friends, neighbors, and family. When my children were little we would cook together and we are still cooking together, but now with their children as well. Now that I am retired, I also look forward to making my own cards so I am really looking forward to these classes.
ty for the template and the great inspiration!
Cute, cute, cute! I’m adding this one to my list of must-dos.
Oh, I really love this idea! It’s so cute!
I’m definitely going to try this one!
I’m trying to catch up on your series. I’m a bit behind! I love the stitching on this tree. So fun! I wonder what it would look like on a star? I’ll have to try it! Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely this card :-)

Just love your cards! I visit your site daily. Thanks for the inspiration and great information.
Just found your card series! Love it! Lots of inspiration to get me started on my Christmas cards.
Another way to do this if you don’t have string is to draw on a tree using glue and use glitter. :)
