Friday Focus – One Layer Card #3

Morning, all! Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I’ve been doing videos elsewhere but haven’t posted them here. I’ve also been swamped with Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 101. What a great class! I’m learning a ton! Anyway, I will try to “catch up” over the weekend. :)

For the third card in my One Layer Card mini series, I started out with a sketch and worked from there. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I love to create monochromatic one layer cards and this one is a perfect example.

I used two stamp sets for the card: Bring on the Sun from Technique Tuesday and Ali Edwards, and the Miss Caroline Adventures stamp set from My Mind’s Eye.

Enjoy!

  1. Cute card. I recently had the same problem with my chomper and thought the exact same thing to myself. Yay us for reading directions!

  2. Okay, I’m going to go empty my corner chomper right now! Great card, it is sunny and bright!

  3. Maybe you could use all those bits from your corner chomper on a card. Be that as it may, I think this one layer card-making is the bomb. Fast and easy.

  4. Can’t believe how much you got out of that chomper, LOL. Just read Tim Holtz advise in CardMaker “embrace imperfection”, liked yours “just live with it”. Your one layer cards are so great.

  5. Greatly illustrates how much you use your corner chomper – I wouldn’t be without mine! And I have more than one style!

  6. Simply superb! :)

  7. The corner chomper can store THAT much?! Wow!

  8. AWESOME! Love the simplicity yet very sophisticated, truly beautiful!

  9. Love this card! It’s so simple but cute! Quick question, since you didn’t show the stamping, did you put all the stamps on 1 block & then mask off the sentiment? Thanks!

  10. I love how you lined up all the border stamps. I would have used them as they were straight out of the package! LAZY!

  11. Just emptied my chomper. Thanks for the reminder. Thanks too for another terrific one layer card! I’m going to try this one tonight. Have a fabulous weekend!

  12. I love this card! Sometimes I have a hard time making one layer cards that have interest, but the bright colors in this card are definetly fun to look at. The bit with the corner chomper made me laugh, I had no idea that that many corner peices could even fit in the chomper.

  13. LOVE the card, very fun! The sentiment is great.
Thanks for sharing your talent with us!

  14. Very cool card! I had no idea that many corners would fit in the chomper! I guess I empty mine more often – that was pretty funny!! Thanks so much!

  15. thanks for sharing all your card ideas. 1 layer cards are good in a pinch. *denise*

  16. Great card! One layer cards are my favorite and I love that you used a stamp set I actually own-the Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday stamp!!

  17. Wow, nice soft color, haven’t seen like this colored one layer card. I LOVE IT !!!
Thank you always for sharing. (^o^)/”"”

  18. Love the card and your honest humor. Anyway, how did you line up the vertical stamps so well? I think I will go experiment with that. Did you mask the sentiment? I really love this idea. I have tons (too many) boarder stamps. This is giving me some wonderful ideas on using them ‘together’. Thanks again.
