Friday Focus – Birthday Card #3

Hi all! Today’s card is the third video in my Birthday Card mini series.

I thought it would be fun to use my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a banner and the sentiment for the card. You can see how I did that in the video. Also, you can purchase the banner design below. :)

  4. hey kristina,

“mensch” means human being/person in german:) funny name for a font.
did you design the banner shape with the silhouette studio software as well?

    • I started to, but then I went to Adobe Illustrator and then transferred it to Silhouette Studio. It’s just a bit easier in Illustrator.

  5. very nice , I love the colors and banner. thanks for all your great ideas!! have a good weekend!!! *denise*

  6. Love, love, love this card, it is one of my favourites from you! :)
I’ ve made one similar card with banner and similar paper on a landscape card. So funny to see similar card :) it is just that mine is way simpler and at a beginner level :)

  7. Really beautiful card. Love the simplicity! Hugs! Mojca

  8. Great card! I like the way you usd the negatives to perfectly place the letters. Wish I had a slhouette or a machine that I could do that with. :)

  9. The card is super cute but I couldn’t watch the video – message said it was unavailable. That is the first time that has happened! :-(

  10. Great Card!! You are so right, the On-Line Class “A Cut Above was fantastic. I learned so much and recommend that anyone who owns a Silhouette or Big Shot / Cuddle Bug take this class.
You will get so much use out of your machines after you have Kristina and Jennifer show you all that you can do on them!

  11. Cute card. I love the idea of usin the pieces you took the letters from for guides. So stinkin’ smart!

  12. I love it very beautiful card ;)

  13. Kristina, you are an absolute genius!! I’ve been using a Silhouette SD for card making since last August. Love it. But, when cutting out small letters that are not welded together, it’s so difficult to keep them aligned when they get placed on the card. Your tip for drawing a box in the Studio software to cut out the negative space around the letters was genius!! Thanks so much for the tip. Awesome.
