Every Book is an Adventure

Hi all! This card and video was done for Simon Says Stamp not too long ago. Enjoy! :)

It’s Back to School month at Simon Says Stamp, so today’s card is school related. To play off the “Every Book is an Adventure” sentiment stamp, I created a line of books by cutting strips of cardstock. It’s a super easy paper piecing, but it has great impact.

I also embossed a TON on this card. The tone on tone clear embossing made those areas interesting without becoming busy. With all those books, I wanted to make sure the rest of the card was fairly “quiet.”

Anyhow, enjoy!

I go back next week. Thanks so much for all your inspiration. You have made my summer so much more fun. I went through withdrawal when i was on vacation and didn’t have access to a computer.

  5. Kristina – this card is beautiful! I’ve never commented on a video of yours (although I’ve watched many!), but I couldn’t resist the urge on this one! I guess I’m a little biased since I’m a teacher and love books, but seriously – so cute!

  6. I was wondering about those little books. It looked liked you had cut them out individually but I didn’t realize until I watched the video (which I loved as usual) That you did not use a stamp for them at all! So clever! Great card but it would also make a wonderful cover for a reading journal.

  7. I love this card and of course I would b/c I am an avid reader and have been all my life and so proud to say my children now are too. All grown now but they love to read. Even my son. The card is great. Thanks for sharing.
