Weekend randomness

by Kristina Werner on February 27, 2009

in General

So I’m sitting here waiting for next Monday’s MACM video to process. I’m getting it ready early since I’ll be out of town this weekend at the TwoPeas Birthday Crop in Madison, WI. :)

Anyway, since I’ll be gone, I’ve leaving you with some fun stuff…

1. First of all, I have a new obsession with Sara Bareilles’ version of (Sittin on) The Dock of the Bay. I’ve always loved the original Otis Redding version. For some reason, it makes me think of my dad. :) When I heard Sara’s version (thank you, Pandora, world’s best internet radio), I had to buy it right away. It’s from her Between The Lines: Live At The Fillmore album. Totally awesome. Here’s the closing credits from the concert DVD

2. I realized that by uploading the latest Virtual Card Club on a random Tuesday instead of the usual Saturday upload, that many of you might have miss it. Here ya go.

3. Latest crafty obsession:

Inkadinkado Gem Stone Butterfly stamp

Inkadinkado’s Gem Stone Butterfly stamp. Go. Buy. It. It’s gorgeous.

4. Latest cosmetic obsession: A tie between Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation and NARS Blush in Desire.

5. Cool website: IMDb (Internet Movie Database). If you aren’t already familiar with IMDb, you need to be. Seriously. I can’t count how many times I’ve been watching a movie or a TV show and think, “Where have I seen that actor before?” So then I go to imdb.com and look it up! It’s that easy. Love it!

6. Loving my Kindle 2. It’s like the first Kindle, but just that much better. In fact, I’m glad it’s not too different. Just some graceful updates and upgrades.

7. I’m thinking of setting up an online chat. I found a website that will allow me to put a password on the chat room so we won’t get any weirdos. Remember last time? Creepy… Anyway, are you interested in a webcam chat? Leave a comment.

8. Random giveaway! Let’s test out those Wordpress comments… leave a comment and one person will win a $5 Amazon.com gift certificate. Maybe you could buy that Sara Bareilles song I talked about in #1. I’ll pick a winner and announce it Monday morning with the usual MACM post.

Happy weekend everyone! :)

Comments are now closed.

Hey Kristina, I’m an old lady to your age group but I’m lovin’ your blog (still). What makeup? I must have missed that part. The Kindle thing looks potentially harmful to my husbands wallet. Sarah is also going to put a dent in hubby’s ITune card. Yes I work but I spend hubby’s money, not mine! I’m missing your cards……where are your cards? Pam

Great randomness! I too love imbd.com — so useful.

Linda Crowder February 28, 2009 at 1:35 pm

I just was given a Webcam to try out and I am not sure how to use it. This would be a good way for me to learn how it works. Will you keep me in mind if you set up the webcam chat?

ikkinlala February 28, 2009 at 2:09 pm

I like that stamp!

Ashley M February 28, 2009 at 2:59 pm

Kim L. February 28, 2009 at 3:38 pm

I’m checking out Pandora right now! Cool!

Cheryl Gehman February 28, 2009 at 4:40 pm

I love watching your “creative process” while making your cards. I still love the original “Sittin on The Dock of the Bay” by Otis the best. Maybe it’s a generation thing?

Margaret February 28, 2009 at 5:05 pm

Your are SO funny about so many different things. I, too, have gone to
the imdb website to look up information about an actor or a movie. Like
you’re watching a movie on TV and wonder: Now, what year was that made?

Thanks for all your great inspiration and I hope you’re staying warm while
in the great cold north.

kelly February 28, 2009 at 5:15 pm

now i’m going to buy that stamp!!!

Gaylyn Pantana February 28, 2009 at 9:35 pm

I like Sara’s rendition of the song. I was glad she stayed true to the best version-and just let her voice shine through. Nice!

A web chat would be fun! It’s so nice to see you are “back”-however we wonder if we will run into you at Convention since you are moving on now?

Jackie February 28, 2009 at 9:43 pm

Love the music and the link to the movie site. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the crop! Glad to hear you like the new Kindle. I’m craving one but the downloading doesn’t work where I live. Maybe someday!

The web chat is a great idea but you must have a password.
