Friday Focus – Birthday Card #5

Hi all!

Remember a while back when I did a miniseries on birthday cards for Friday Focus? Time to bring it back! I’m running seriously low on birthday cards in my stash! LOL!

Today I used the Turn 29 stamp set from Technique Tuesday. Super fun! As I was making this card I realized that stamping the rows of candles in different colors of ink reminded me of what I created last Monday with the heart background stamp. Too funny! I didn’t mean to, but it just happened that way. I think it’s because I recently swatched all my ink colors and now I’m on a colorful ink kick. :)

Anyhow, so today’s card resembles Monday’s card, but I love it just the same. :)

  1. Hey Kristina- love the card! Your video is not playing because it is marked private. Happy Friday! Hope you have fun at Disney!

  4. Cute card Kristina! I have an SU stamp set similar to that-doesn’t have the cute candle but I think I can find one. My dd would love a card like this to give to all her “29″ again friends!!:)

  11. I really love how you designed this card…such a fun sentiment, too! As always, thank you so much for taking the time to post these videos for us :-)

  12. Kristina–I have been following all your videos since I “discovered” you about halfway through the holiday series in November/December. Since then–I have bought an EK success powder tool, a mat work surface like yours, and the We-R-Memory keepers corner chomper, the Derwent Inktense 12-pack set (wish I had a few more), and several other tools and fun things (just 4 copics so far). (I think my husband thinks I could open a craft store.) Just made my daughter a birthday card–we’re celebrating tonight. Used Versafine black for the first time- LOVE IT- I had a little rubber stamp of a row of birthday candles with a lot of detail-so cute! I also tried using white embossing powder that I had, but I think it’s old or a bad brand…it didn’t look good. Have to see if I can find the brand you use. I’m not very good at coming up with designs on my own (I’m really best at copying!) and I appreciate seeing your designs SO MUCH. I probably will never get very good at coloring but I like seeing how you shade, etc. I’m sure it comes very naturally to you, but not me…Thanks for your posts. I appreciate following along so much.

  13. I could do with some birthday cards for my stash, esp. if they are as gorgeous as yours, LOL. Thanks for sharing your video and tips. Love the one about using PP for colour inspiration. Have a wonderful weekend!

  14. Very cute card. I love the color effect on the card. Very nice.

  15. I love this card. When I first saw it, I thought it was a long “multi candle” stamp. Love the idea of taking a single image and repeating like you did. You rock!

  16. Great use of one little candle stamp…awesome great.

  17. Just CASEd your baby card from a YouTube video you posted on June 23, 2010. Thanks for the idea! Stop in at my blog to see the results!
