Color Inspiration #45

Good morning, everyone!
This week’s Color Inspiration Challenge might seem a bit familiar. We did one similar to this a while back. However, this time you won’t be able to pick out a fourth color. Mwa ha ha! It’s all monochromatic in only black, gray, and white! :)
This fabric flower is a hair clip that I bought at Torrid last spring (they always have great hair stuff). I was obsessed with flowers and this one was right up my alley because I wear a lot of black. Anyway, the picture is one that I had a friend at work snap a few months ago and just found on my computer.
Anyhow, have fun! I can’t wait to see what ya’ll come up with! :)

March 11th, 2009 at 10:55 aminteresting color choices. Very good for a rainy day.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:10 amThe color combo is one I don’t think I have ever used before.. until today. Thanks for the challenge. Pam
March 11th, 2009 at 11:38 amoooh! You are evil! I was hoping for nice bright springy colors today.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:41 amohhhh that was a tough one!
March 11th, 2009 at 11:42 amKristina! I am making it my personal mission to do all of your challenges. Although I have been reading your blog since the very first one, I wasn’t always an active participant. Well, I’m in the process posting my card for the very first challenge today. I wanted to include some background info in the post and do you know what I realized? Today is the 1st anniversary of the Color Inspiration challenges! Yeah!!!! Thanks for a great year of incredible photos, chat and inspiration!
I have to go back and finish my post now….I was so excited I didn’t finish it. Give me a couple minutes!!!
Big Hugs!
March 11th, 2009 at 11:45 amLove the challenges, so glad the round-up is back! :)
March 11th, 2009 at 12:08 pmOh man, I haven’t been able to play in weeks and now I have a real challenge on my hands- yikes! ;)
March 11th, 2009 at 12:23 pmOoh, I’m not good with monochromatic, so this was a good challenge for me. :) Thanks!!
March 11th, 2009 at 12:44 pmThis was a hard color challenge girl! I missed last weeks because I was sick, sick! Now that I’m off for 2 days, I’m getting my rest by doing what I love to do!
Hey! BTW….congrats on selling all your cards! Wow, chic! you are doing great!!
Hugs!

I saw this (thanks Denise!) and I had to do it! Even though my SU order arrived in the middle of my creation, I let it sit. Color Inspiration Challenge seems fun and I hope I did it right! Good luck to all.
March 11th, 2009 at 1:43 pmThese were fun colors for me! I am a big cow fan and the colors go right along with my theme… Thanks for the great challenges!

March 11th, 2009 at 3:28 pmWow! This was tough one, but so much fun! I had an idea right off the bat and went to work using techniques I’m still trying to learn. You have got me on such a card making kick that my poor photos are sitting on my table feeling neglected! I’d better make a layout really soon!
Thanks for the inspiration!
March 11th, 2009 at 4:34 pmI have a question: I read your FAQ but I still wondering if I can add another colour(s)… I have made a card using the specified colours but I added an embellishment to it (a sunflower). Would that be ok for the challenge? It seems like a silly question, thinking about it now… the whole point of the challenge is certainly to use ONLY the specified colours . Anyway, there you go :D.
Carola, usually I don’t mind if you add another color if it’s in the picture. However, the only other color this week would be brown (my hair). Anyway, I wanted the challenge this week to be specifically just black, gray, and white. Try to keep it to just that, but if you’ve already made your card, go ahead and link it up. No worries. ;)
Tough colors and a great challenge! Thanks for doing this every week!
March 11th, 2009 at 6:01 pmI love this color combo! I also love your work! I have never posted on here, but I really enjoy watching your videos. Great inspiration! Thanks!

March 11th, 2009 at 9:23 pmThis was a great one to start with for me!
March 11th, 2009 at 9:39 pmHey, what the heck? Where’s the color? :P
March 11th, 2009 at 11:03 pmThis is a shade challenge, not a color challenge, or at least my art teacher would have said so he he… It was fun but I did keep wanting to grab a color :)
Hi – Loved this colour combination. This is the first time I have entered. Made a card a while back that was grey/black/white so thought I’d have a go.
March 11th, 2009 at 11:44 pmYea! I finally participated in one of your color challenges, and ON TIME! I love your color inspirations, but I just can’t seem to get them done on time. Luckily, this one worked out, but it won’t post to my blog until tomorrow so I’ll link then. Thanks for the fun challenge!

I’ve never done one of your color inspirations or anyone elses to that fact. But I wanted to say this one I did. I don’t post or have a blog to do so. I’m really not computer smart. But This Inspiration was perfect. Will you be at the Craft Expo in SLC this next week? My first year to go if I don’t get sick..LOL..I can’t wait to get to SLC and see my family to. Well anyway thank you for this inspiration colors maybe someday I’ll figure this whole computer out..I’m just a small town country girl lost online..LOL..thanks..
March 12th, 2009 at 6:53 amI love classic color schemes like this. Too many cards I could come up with!
March 12th, 2009 at 8:16 amI particpated in the last one that you had with the “Add a color”. This was a lot of fun, even though I am 8 days to deliver my baby, fighting a cold, and having major carpal tunnel.
March 12th, 2009 at 8:48 amLoved it thanks!
Thanks for the colours!
March 12th, 2009 at 12:20 pmHave a nice day!
Once I wrapped my brain around this I loved the results. Thanks for the inspiration and the opportunity to help me keep things fresh.

March 13th, 2009 at 3:04 amI loved this challenge! Have used acrylic paint (on bubble wrap), Jenni Bowlin jouranl card, A male icon and even ripped a page from my ‘Tess of the D’urbevilles’ book for embellishment! Hope you like!!

Loved this combo.
This is the first time I took the challenge and I liked it. Thank you for the inspiration.
March 13th, 2009 at 8:28 amI think you will have a tough time this week, Kristina. There are a lot of great cards out there. I know I had fun, I could have created a few more cards. I took my first idea and didn’t look back.
March 13th, 2009 at 9:04 amGreat colours this week Kristina! Loads of entries already!!!!
March 13th, 2009 at 9:40 amGreat challenge, Kristina! You sure know how to pick ‘em! I’m glad I don’t have the job of picking out a top ten because after browsing through the entries I decided it would be very hard to do. I think the submissions keep on getting better and better!
March 13th, 2009 at 10:14 amI love the elegance of black and white, but I always add a little color, so this was challenging for me! But… I like how it turned out. I used the scalloped edge from your finally Friday video because I thought it was so cute. Thanks for getting me thinking out of my own box! Love your color inspiration challenges!

March 13th, 2009 at 11:15 pmI just found you! Boy do I need inspiration and ideas for color. May I be added to your list to receive e-mails, for that purpose? I am pretty new to this whole cardmaking thing (a couple of years dabbling) coming from scrapbooking I thought it would be a natural crossover. It is and at the same time it isn’t. Please feel free to contact me.
I saw a card from Mary Fish and this is the style I do like, simple. Thank you for your reply, in advance, and for your time for this querie.
Cheryl, you can subscribe by email by clicking on “email” at the top of the screen. Then you’ll receive updates in your mailbox. Hope that helps! :)

March 14th, 2009 at 5:09 pmGreat challenge!! Thanks for the fun!!
March 14th, 2009 at 5:09 pm-t
This was certainly a challenge, but fun!
March 14th, 2009 at 6:03 pmYou know its sad that I wait each week to see what the color challenge is, write it down with excitement…and then never get the time to actually DO one. Here’s another week gone by that I didn’t get a chance to spend time crafting…lets hope next week I can force an hour to do a challenge! In any case, I love seeing what you post and it at least makes me THINK about crafting. :-)
March 14th, 2009 at 8:02 pmBummer. After completing card #1, and posting it in the knick of time, inspiration for card # 2 hit just a bit too late. Oh well, serves me right for waiting until Saturday to complete the challenge. Thanks for the weekly color scheme!

March 15th, 2009 at 9:43 amI never get to do your color challenges on time. Just can’t seem to get it done during the week. Anyway, just wanted you to know others still play, just late. :) Thanks for all you do.
