Card Videos

Hi all! So sorry for not posting for a few days. I’m still dealing with back pain so my work time is limited (I can’t sit down for a long period of time). I’ve been working on new stamps and dies for Simon, but that means I haven’t been creating cards. Anyhow, hoping to get back into cardmaking more soon. :)

Today I have two cards with shimmery watercolor backgrounds. I wanted to paint some backgrounds and use FineTec pearlescent watercolors while painting with traditional watercolors. I don’t think I’ve ever tried to use them at the same time so it was interesting to see how they behave.

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

I used Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors on Arches cold press watercolor paper for the backgrounds, plus the 12 set of FineTec pearlescent watercolors. I turned the backgrounds into cards by using the Love You So stamp set from Concord & 9th, the Lover Shaker die from Pretty Pink Posh, and the Outside In Stitched Heart Stackables dies from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Kristina, sorry to hear you are suffering with back pain. I have scoliosis and had surgery when I was 16. I have to stretch every morning before my feet hit the floor or I can barely walk to the washroom. I used to only stretch forward nose to knees and still had sciatic pain. Then I started laying on my back and stretching – pushing my butt into the mattress. I have no sciatic pain now. It’s an easy thing to do, takes little time to do. Not sure what pain you have but I hope this will help you. There’s nothing worse than back pain!

    Love these watercolored cards!
I have the love shaker die too and love the simplicity of it without it being on a shaker card! Mine is about a third of the way down on my blog linked in my signature!

Very sweet cards! I suffer from back pain as well, I use a TENS unit, it’s better than any pain meds. Hope you feel better soon.

These are both beautiful and the surprise technique is a fabulous tip.

It was great to see how the backgrounds turned out with the addition of the gold in the painting process rather than after the watercolors dried. Definitely going to have to try that! Thanks for the video and I sure hope you’re on the road to recovery with your back-it can be a long, slow process, so take care Kristina!
