Happy Wednesday, all! And a early-Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in the US. :) Today is Day 13 of the Holiday Card Series. For those who are are new to my blog and videos, the Holiday Card Series consists of 25 holiday card inspiration videos. I’ll be sharing holiday inspiration every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until December 20.

For today’s card, it all started out with the Cityscape dies from Avery Elle. I envisioned a very light and bright scene with a pale blue sky and the city at the very bottom of the card. For the greeting, I thought it would be fun to diecut a banner and words using Tonic Studio’s Christmas Double Banner dies.
To create the pale blue sky that I was imagining in my head, I decided to create a dramatic blue ombré or gradient watercolor background. I only used one watercolor color for this: Cerulean Blue from my Mijello Mission Gold palette.
After assembling the diecut cityscape and banner, I realized the card needed something more. I diecut six snowflakes using Penny Black’s A Blizzard dies. I coated the snowflakes (and the greeting from the Tonic Christmas Double Banners set) in Sterling embossing powder from Brutus Monroe and heat set the powder until smooth and melted. From there it was just the matter of assembling the card.
I hope you enjoyed today’s video and card. I’ll see you very soon for another day of the Holiday Card Series! :)
