Happy Monday, all! Today is Day 3 of the Holiday Card Series for this year. For those who are are new to my blog and videos, the Holiday Card Series consists of 25 holiday card inspiration videos. I’ll be sharing holiday inspiration every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until December 20.

For today’s video, I thought I would play with a new watercolor set that I recently received. JoiArt sent their set of 24 watercolors to me (thank you, JoiArt!) for me to try out. I think this set of watercolors is pretty great, especially for the price! You can get the entire set from Amazon for around $15!
One of the first things I did was swatch out all the colors so that I could choose the color combination for my card design. After swatching the colors, I chose five colors: Scarlet Red, Hooker’s Green, Emerald Green, Veridian, and Yellow Ochre.
First I stamped holiday greeting stamps from Paper Smooches’ Boxed Greetings stamp set in VersaMark ink in the center of some Arches cold press watercolor paper panels (cut to 5″ x 3.75″). I applied Antique Gold embossing powder from Simon over the greetings and then heat set them until the powder was smooth and melted.
Once the greetings were stamped, I freehand painted some flowers, leaves, and berries using a size 4 round brush. Since I was creating six cards at the same time, I worked in stages and painted each element (flower, stem of leaves, etc) on all the panels before cleaning my watercolor brush and moving on to the next element.
I mounted the watercolor panels on three different colors of card stock from Gina K Designs (all the colors are included in the Autumn Rainbow pack).
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed the video. :)
