For those who are are new to my blog and videos, the Holiday Card Series consists of 25 holiday card inspiration videos. I’ll be sharing holiday inspiration every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until November 30. Today’s card started out one way and morphed into this! It features the Polka Dot Background stencils and the Fa La La dies from Honey Bee.
(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).
To create the watercolor background, I wet watercolor paper generously with water and dropped Mijello Mission Gold watercolors in green shades into the center. I also sprayed the paper with additional water to get the colors moving.
After the watercolor painting was dry, I tape one of the Polka Dot Background stencils to the watercolor paper and pressed a VersaMark ink pad onto it. After removing the stencil, I applied Antique Gold embossing powder to the dots and heat set the pattern.
I used the Merry die (and it’s shadow die) from the Fa La La dies to create a greeting for the card. To finish off the greeting area, I stamped “holiday wishes” from Mama Elephant’s Holiday Messages stamp set and heat embossed it on brown cardstock.
Thanks for stopping by today! I’ll see you all on Friday for Day 22!
