Layered Stencil Blending with Distress Oxides

Hello, all! Today I have a fun card for you featuring new stamps and stencils from Paper Smooches that will be available for purchase starting tomorrow in the Paper Smooches shop. Today’s post is also a blog hop, so be sure to check out the hop info at the bottom of this post before the Supplies list.

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

I started with Pink Lemonade cardstock from My Favorite Things (which I think they’ve renamed Tickled Pink? Can anyone confirm that? I think it’s the same cardstock). I used the new Patterns and Starry stencils to blend four colors of Distress Oxide ink. I used Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Broken China, and Chipped Sapphire. I did all the blending with Blender Brushes from Picket Fence.

The greeting from the new Inhale Exhale stamp set was stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossing using white embossing powder.

At this point, I need to make the greeting stand out more, so I masked off a rectangle around the greeting and ink blended Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink into the area.

I finished off the card by drawing white lines from a Gelly Roll pen around the greeting.

NOTE: You can see the video of the envelope at my Instagram.

So soft and pretty card with a very cold envie . By the way what is the name of the music you played during the blending I loved it.

Oh I just love this card, the sentiment, the stars, the colors, and of course that fabulous envelope. When I was very little, a long, long, long time ago my parents took a picture of me and I looked just like Shirley Temple. How fun that’s one of the stamps you used. I always believe, there are no coincidences. I am so honored to be receiving one of your mail art creations, thank you so much.

Stars – my favorite shape. Love your crisp card – and your fix for the sentiment not initially popping! Time to do some stenciling!

I love that card and I love that sentiment. I appreciate it so much when you keep going on a project you’re not completely happy with and come up with fixes that turn it into a fantastic card. It always gives me hope when working on a project — an initial “fail” can become a “success.”
