Metallic Circle Shaker Card & Envelope – Make a Card Monday #290

Happy Monday, all! Today I made both a circle shaker card and an envelope. I used the Thankful Flowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp for the circle shaker card, and beautiful FineTec Pearlescent watercolors on the envelope.

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

I started out by die cutting a bunch of pieces for the shaker card:

The pattern on the “back wall” of the shaker was stamped using the flower images in the Thankful Flowers stamp set, and then heat embossed using Metallic Copper embossing powder from Wow. I stamped the greeting on the acetate circle and embossed it with Alabaster embossing powder from Brutus Monroe.

For the copper frame on the card, I coated the die cut frame with VersaMark and then applied the copper embossing powder and heat set it. I coated it with two layers of embossing powder for an even smoother look.

After assembling the shaker card, I worked on an envelope. I used a 5.75″ square envelope from Paper Source and painted metallic streaks of color across the bottom of the envelope using FineTec Pearlesent watercolors.

Tanja’s address was brush lettered using white gouache, and her address added with a white Sharpie paint pen.

NOTE: Address used with permission. Thanks, Tanja! To submit your address for use on future mail art envelopes, please fill out this form. There is a new form each month to keep addresses current.

Thanks for stopping by today! I’ll see you soon with another card video. :)

Great card. I love shaker cards, I have not seen a round one in a long time and I loved the colors.

Your shaker and envelope are both wonderful! I’ve tried lettering but just can’t seem to get mine to come out good even after pages and pages of practice. Where do you get all your stamps?

I watched this on big tv. It is truly stunning! Trying to figure how I can adapt it to a Halloween card. I am hopeless that way.

Gorgeous card! I love that you are doing envelopes and cards together sometimes, I’ve really been inspired to do some designs on my envelopes lately. Thanks!
