Happy Thursday, all! Do you have a stash of finished backgrounds just waiting to be made into cards? The colorful watercolor background I made a couple of weeks ago was begging to be made into a card! LOL! In today’s video, I cut it up and turned it into a birthday cake!

To spruce up the layers of the cake and make them more whimsical, I painted simple patterns using white gouache. I then diecut a cake topper for the top of the cake using the Top It Off dies from Concord & 9th. I used gold foil cardstock from Altenew, and also cut strips of the gold cardstock to accent the cake layers.
