Watercolor Stencil Design

Happy Friday, all! Today I have a card for you featuring a watercolor design based on a stencil! I used the Reverse Hearts stencil from Simon to create a fun pink and purple watercolored background. This post is also part of a blog hop! Be sure to check out the hop info below my project. :)

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

To start the background, I traced the Reverse Hearts stencil onto watercolor paper using a pencil. Then I used the pink and purple colors from the Prima Watercolor Confections Tropicals set to paint around the hearts. After the background was dry, I erased any pencils lines I could.

The greeting was created using the Friend Outline die from Simon, as well as a white heat embossed greeting from the Love Messages stamp set.

I hope you enjoy the video! Thanks for stopping by!

What a great way to get a different use out of stencils. I don’t know why I didn’t think this would work, but now I’m definitely going to have to try it. Thanks for the inspiration!
