Watercolor Week – Primary Colors + Heat Emboss Resist

Hello all! Welcome back for some more Watercolor Week. Today I’m playing with only primary colors to create an easy rainbow background. I used the Center Cut Heart background stamp from Simon Says Stamp to create a heat emboss resist technique.

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

I used three colors of Hydrus liquid watercolors: Cobalt Blue, Quinacridone Magenta, and Hansa Yellow Light. I love how vibrant the colors turned out on the card!

To finish off the card, I added some diecut letters using the Missing You die set, plus some Crystal sequins from Darice (in 8mm and 5mm).

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy today’s card.

Kristina, thank you some much for your fabulous tutorials! You have a wonderful speaking voice, which makes you so easy to listen to. You are clear, concise and I really appreciate the information you include on the products you use. You make it look so easy to film and give step-by-step instructions but I know the time and attention that takes!

I think I need to do something like this just to learn mixing of colors and what they’ll do. I’m not very well versed on how to create colors and this idea is a great one to learn with. Thanks for another fun video, the card turned out lovely.
