Happy Thursday, all! Simon Says Stamp just released all their holiday stamps, dies, and stencils, so I thought I’d create two quick holiday cards using ink blending. You can see the entire holiday 2020 release HERE.
(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).
For my first card, I stamped and white heat embossed the large “peace” from the Holiday Sparkle Greetings stamp set. I also stamped many of the stars from the stamp set around the word.
Then I ink blended Distress Inks over the top of the heat embossed stamping. The embossed areas resisted the ink, leaving the white design behind. The four colors of Distress Ink that I used are: Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot.
To finish off the card, I used Copic markers to color the Santa and sleigh image from the Santa’s Sleigh Rider Slider stamps set. I die cut the image out using the coordinating dies and then adhered him to the front of the card using foam adhesive.
For my second card, I first coated the Bold Merry Christmas stencil with Pixie Spray on the back. This low-tack adhesive allowed me to place the stencil on white cardstock and it didn’t budge while I ink blended over the top with the same four colors of Distress Ink.
To finish off the card, I added small white dots with a white gel pen.
And that’s it! I hope you enjoyed today’s cards. These are just a few of the products included in Simon’s holiday 2020 release. Check out all the new products in their shop.
