3 Ways to Create DIY Shimmer/Glitter Paper

Happy Thursday, all! Today I’m showing three ways to create DIY shimmer or glitter paper. One way uses glitter paste, another uses pearlescent watercolors, and then a glitter spray. All three are great ways to add sparkle and shine to your projects! :)
NOTE: On the center thanks card, the sentiment stamp “…simply isn’t enough” has a typo in it. I got the stamp set from Mama Elephant and they corrected it before selling the stamps to customers. So, no worries about the typo if you purchase the set now. It’s all good. I just need to get a replacement stamp for my set. :)
The first way I created glitter paper was with Glitter Paste from BoBunny.
I used three colors: Bubble Gum, Lavender, and Caribbean (which might be my favorite glitter paste color ever). It was very easy to gently spread the paste out using a palette knife as if I was icing a cake. And of all three ways to create glitter or shimmer paper, this is the one that sparkles the most.
Then I watercolored using FineTec pearlescent paints. Layers of paint built up the colors well and when it’s tipped in the light the paint has a metallic or pearlescent finish. It’s super pretty!
The third way I created shimmer paper was by using a glitter spray, Therm O Web Silver Glitter Dust. This was my first time using it and it was so painless and quick! And I loved the glossy and shimmery finish. No glitter rubs off and it was a quick way to add glitter. I already have the Gold Glitter Dust and Iridescent Glitter Dust on order from Simon. I can’t wait until it arrives. :)
I finished off the cards by diecutting each sheet using a circle from Simon’s Nested Circle die set. For a greeting on each card, I die cut various thanks greetings (Mama Elephant’s Thanks Script die, Paper Smooches’ Thanks Word 2 die, and a discontinued die from Avery Elle), and stamped sentiments from Mama Elephant’s Thank You Wishes stamp set.
I hope you enjoy today’s video! :)
