Baby Congrats Card with Embossed Vellum & Ethereal Watercolor

Happy Monday, all! I’m still slightly obsessed with the watercolor background I made a while back, so I decided to recreate it but change up the colors a bit to create a congrats card for a friend who just announced that she and her husband are expecting their second child. This time I used blue and teal colors for a different look.
(Wondering what I used on this card? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).
I used Sakura Koi watercolors for the watercoloring painting, and then added some metallic pearlescent FineTec watercolors. The hot air balloon and banner images are from Altenew’s Baby Balloon stamp set. I also used the coordinating dies to cut out the balloon and banner.
The balloon was stamped and heat embossed on vellum. I used dots of Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere the vellum to the watercolor piece. I also made sure to place adhesive directly behind the banner shape since it would disguise the adhesive.
I hope you love today’s card! Thanks for stopping by! :)
