Baby Shower Shaker Card – Make a Card Monday #269

Happy Monday, all!

Last week I was invited to a baby shower and needed a card for the mom-to-be. I created a shaker card using Mama Elephant’s Carnival Cupcakes stamp set and posted a picture of the card on Instagram and Facebook. So many of you asked for a video of the card, so I recreated it. And I’m glad I did! The second time making the card went much smoother and I think I like the second card even more. :)

This time I used patterned paper from the Amy Tangerine Cut & Paste 6×6 pad for the scalloped circle frame and the inside of the shaker.

And I changed the way I created the shaker. The first time, I used foam tape to build the shaker area. This time I die-cut fun foam to the exact shape that I wanted and it was much easier.

The little animals were stamped in Antique Linen Distress Ink and then watercolored using Distress Markers. This particular watercoloring technique is called no-line watercoloring because the original stamped line disappears once you add color. It’s a great look for baby cards, I think. :)

Hope you enjoy the video!
