BUILDING A SCENE WITH MASKING – Simon’s Birthday Numbers stamp set

Happy Monday, all! Have you all seen the Birthday Numbers stamp set from Simon’s STAMPtember release? I love this set! I’ve had a design in mind since the beginning and today I can finally share it with you!
(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).
The design of this card relies heavily on (stamping the image on separate masking paper, cutting it out, and applying it over the image). To make all the elements look layered and interacting with one another, I needed to mask some if the images. To make it look like the bowtie and hat are in front of the number, I had to stamp those first, apply a mask, and then stamp the number. But I needed the position of both the bowtie and the hat to be perfect. So I used a guide. Watch the video to see exactly what I mean. :)
After stamping, I watercolored the card using Mijello Mission Gold watercolors. The greeting was stamped on black cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoy the video! :)
