Two Cards Using Alphabet Dies

Hi all! Today I have a couple cards for you that feature die cutting with alphabet dies. I used My Favorite Things’ High-Rise Alphabet Lowercase dies to die-cut the word “thanks”, and after creating one card I still had the dies arranged so I created a second card, too.
The result is two cards with essentially the same design, but each are stamped and inked differently.
I absolutely love the greetings in My Favorite Things’ Friends Like Us stamp set. I could use them on nearly every card. :)
For the first card, I used Hero Arts Butter Bar ink for the yellow blending and stamping. The greeting was stamped in Versafine Black Onyx, my favorite black ink for sentiments. It’s a great inkpad for fine-detailed stamp images and itty bitty greetings. If you don’t have it in your stamping arsenal, you must remedy that immediately! I use it all the time.
On the second card, I blended three Distress Ink colors: Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, and Pine Needles. The dots were stamped in Simon Says Stamp Fog ink, and the greeting was stamped in VersaMark ink and embossed using Hero Arts white embossing powder.
NOTE: Make sure all of the Distress Ink is completely dry before attempting to emboss. Any moisture at all will cause the embossing powder to stick everywhere. Always test the area by sprinkling on embossing powder and seeing if it all slides off when you tap the cardstock. If all the powder slides off, you’re good to go.
I hope you enjoy the cards and the video showing the process. I love how the dimension turned out on these. :)
